UFC Fight Night: Condit vs. Kampmann 2 (also known as UFC Fight Night 27) was a mixed martial arts event held on August 28, 2013, at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. [2] The event was broadcast live on Fox Sports 1.
The main event was a rematch between Martin Kampmann and former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion and former WEC Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit. [3] In their first encounter at UFC Fight Night 18 in 2009, Kampmann defeated Condit (who was making his promotional debut) via split decision. [4] [5]
A bout between promotional newcomers Nandor Guelmino and Derrick Lewis was briefly linked to this event. However, Lewis was forced out of the bout with an injury and Guelmino was removed from the card and scheduled for a later bout at UFC 165. [6]
A bout between Bobby Voelker and James Head was briefly scheduled for this event. However, on July 11, it was announced that Voelker had been brought in as a replacement for Siyar Bahadurzada and would face Robbie Lawler on July 27, 2013 at UFC on Fox 8. [7] Jason High stepped in to face Head as a replacement for Voelker. [8]
Paulo Thiago was expected to face Kelvin Gastelum at the event. However, Thiago pulled out of the bout citing a knee injury and was replaced by Brian Melancon. [9]
Sarah Kaufman was expected to face Sara McMann at the event. However, McMann pulled out of the bout for undisclosed personal reasons. [10] As a result, Kaufmann was pulled from the event as well. [11]
A flyweight bout between UFC newcomers Dustin Ortiz and Justin Scoggins was briefly linked to this event, but was removed from the card. [12]

Johny Harvey Hendricks is an American former mixed martial artist and collegiate wrestler. He competed in the welterweight and middleweight divisions of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and is a former UFC Welterweight Champion. He is currently a Texas police officer.
Robert Lawler is an American professional mixed martial artist who has been competing since 2001. He is a former UFC Welterweight Champion, former EliteXC Middleweight Champion, and has formerly competed in Strikeforce, PRIDE, and the IFL. Nicknamed "Ruthless", he is known for his aggressive fighting style. Lawler is the only fighter to have won three consecutive "Fight of the Year" awards from Sherdog and MMA Fighting, for his bouts against Johny Hendricks, Rory MacDonald, and Carlos Condit.
Martin Kampmann Frederiksen is a retired Danish professional mixed martial artist who competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is a former Cage Warriors World Middleweight Champion.
Thiago Alves is a Brazilian bare-knuckle fighter and former mixed martial artist. A 27-fight veteran of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, he competed in the promotion from 2005 until 2019. Aside from being a professional fighter, Alves has been a striking coach at the American Top Team since 2017.
Carlos Joseph Condit is an American former professional mixed martial artist. He formerly competed in the Welterweight division in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he was the former Interim UFC Welterweight Champion. Condit formerly fought in the UFC's sister promotion, World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC), where he was the final Welterweight Champion. Condit has also competed for both Shootboxing and Pancrase in Japan.
Matthew Burton Brown is an American mixed martial artist currently competing in the Welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. A professional competitor since 2004, Brown was a contestant on the seventh season of The Ultimate Fighter television series.
JakeEllenberger is an American retired mixed martial artist and former United States Marine who was known for competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). A professional competitor from 2005–2018, Ellenberger has also formerly competed for the Quad Cities Silverbacks of the IFL, Bodog Fight, and King of the Cage.
Siyar Bahadurzada is a retired Afghan-born Dutch mixed martial artist who competed in the Welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He currently works as an instructor for Evolve MMA in Singapore. A professional competitor since 2001, he had also competed for World Victory Road, RINGS, and for Shooto, in which he held the title of Shooto Middleweight Champion.
John J. Howard is an American professional mixed martial artist currently competing in the Middleweight division of the Eagle Fighting Championship. A professional competitor since 2004, Howard has formerly competed for the International Fight League, the Ultimate Fighting Championship, CES MMA, the Cage Fury Fighting Championships and Professional Fighters League.
