UFC Fight Night: Evans vs. Salmon (also known as UFC Fight Night 8) was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on January 25, 2007 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. [1] It was broadcast live in the United States and Canada on Spike TV. [2]
This card featured the UFC debut of PRIDE and Hero's veteran Heath Herring. Originally scheduled for the main card was a bout between middleweight contestants Nate Marquardt and Dean Lister; it is believed that Spike TV influenced the eventual decision to remove the bout from the main card. [3]

The Ultimate Fighter is an American reality television series and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and Pilgrim Media Group currently airing on ESPN+. It previously aired for fourteen seasons on Spike TV. The show features professional MMA fighters living together in Las Vegas, Nevada, and follows them as they train and compete against each other for a prized six-figure contract with the UFC. The series debuted on January 17, 2005, with its first episode, "The Quest Begins". To date, there have been thirty one seasons of the show, two per calendar year, some years having only one season. Each season features either one or two weight classes in the tournament.
Rashad Anton Evans is an American mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Light Heavyweight division of Eagle Fighting Championship. Evans started his professional career in 2003, he was the Heavyweight winner of The Ultimate Fighter 2 and is also a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, and a 2019 inductee of the UFC Hall of Fame.
Nathan Joel Marquardt is an American mixed martial artist who competed in the middleweight and welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. A professional competitor since 1999, he is a former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion and a three-time Pancrase Middleweight Champion.
