USS Ted Stevens (DDG-128) will be an Arleigh Burke-class (Flight III) Aegis guided missile destroyer of the United States Navy, the third of the Flight III variant. [1] She will be named in honor of Ted Stevens, who served as a U.S. Senator for Alaska for over 40 years and was a staunch supporter of both the Navy and the Marine Corps. [7] [8]
The keel of Ted Stevens was laid in a ceremony at the Ingalls shipyards on 9 March 2022. [2] She was launched on 15 August 2023 [3] and christened four days later on the 19th. [4]
