"U My Everything" is a song by American rapper Sexyy Red and Canadian rapper Drake. It was sent to US rhythmic radio through Open Shift and Gamma as the second and final single from Sexyy's third mixtape, In Sexyy We Trust . [1] The song was produced by Tay Keith, Jake Fridkis, and Luh Ron. Both artists wrote it together; King Willonius is also credited as a songwriter as the song contains a sample of his 2024 song, "BBL Drizzy", which was created as a comedy diss towards Drake, who raps over the sample. [2] [3] "U My Everything" marks the second collaboration between Sexxy Red and Drake, following the latter's single, "Rich Baby Daddy", which also features American singer-songwriter SZA, from his eighth studio album, For All the Dogs (2023).

Background

On May 24, 2024, Sexyy Red released her third project, a mixtape titled In Sexyy We Trust through Gamma and Open Shift, it features "U My Everything", a song where Sexyy Red teamed with Canadian rapper Drake. [4] The rappers flow over a Metro Boomin produced instrumental, "BBL Drizzy", a diss record aimed at Drake following their ongoing rap feud released in early May 2024. [5]

Critical reception

Billboard 's editor Angel Diaz wrote that they "like the song", and that it was a "calculated move" by Drake, in reference to his feud with Kendrick Lamar. [6] Others, such as TheGrio's Touré, criticized the song, wondering if "maybe Kendrick Lamar has stolen Drake and J. Cole’s powers?" [7]

Might Delete Later is the fourth mixtape by American rapper J. Cole. It was released through Dreamville Records and Interscope Records on April 5, 2024. The mixtape features guest appearances from Young Dro, Gucci Mane, Ari Lennox, Cam'ron, Central Cee, Bas, Daylyt, and Ab-Soul. Included in the mixtape's production credits are Cole himself, T-Minus, Charlie Heat, FnZ, ATL Jacob, The Alchemist, Mike Will Made It, and Pluss, among others. The mixtape was supported by one single, "H.Y.B.", a collaboration with Bas and Central Cee that was sent to US rhythmic radio on April 30, 2024, weeks after the mixtape's release. "7 Minute Drill" was a diss track written and recorded by the American rapper J. Cole for his fourth mixtape, Might Delete Later (2024). It was his response to fellow American rapper Kendrick Lamar's diss verse on his single "Like That". Produced by T-Minus, Conductor Williams, Al Hug and Elyas, the track was titled after and taken from one of Cole's seven-minute songwriting drills with the former producer.

The mixtape contains guest appearances from Drake, Mike Will Made It, VonOff1700, and Lil Baby. Production on the record was handled by Mike Will Made It himself and Tay Keith, alongside other record producers. The mixtape was supported by two singles, "Get It Sexyy" and the Drake-assisted "U My Everything", the latter being notable for sampling BBL Drizzy. The album title is a pun on the United States motto, "In God We Trust".
