Uli Weber, internationally renowned photographer, was born in Germany. After studying photography in Rome, he moved to London and is best known for his work in the field of Portrait and Fine Art Photography. According to Ivan Shaw, international critic and former director of photography for American Vogue, Weber’s mastery and artistic technique can be compared to those of well-known masters such as Henri Cartier-Bresson and August Sander. His photographs are celebrated in the world of Fine Art and have been exhibited in various museums around the world, such as the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, the MUST museum and the Castle of Charles V in Lecce, as well as in prestigious spaces in London such as the Saatchi Gallery, Maison Assouline and Christie’s.

Uli Weber learned his art in Italy, where he developed his ability to create imagery with a dramatic intensity combining mystery, romance and glamour. His first cover shoot in 1994 was for the iconic style magazine Arena and featured Sting [1] wrapped in a vivid red Katharine Hamnett fake fur coat. Other prestigious commissions followed for magazines such as Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle, and GQ. The faces of well-known celebrities such as Keira Knightley, Kylie Minogue, [2] Hugh Grant, [3] Kate Moss, [4] Lily Cole, [5] Daniel Radcliffe, [6] Jeremy Irons [7] as well as architects such as Achille Castiglioni and Oscar Niemeyer, were immortalized in the beautiful photographic book Portraits published by Skira in 2010 with exhibitions in London, New York, [8] and Milan.
In 2014, upon an invitation by the Duke of Richmond, Uli Weber changed gear, swapping Kate Moss for Sir Stirling Moss and this shift gave rise to Weber’s next book, “Goodwood Revival”, [9] an award-winning photography project highlighting the most eccentric vintage car race in the world, which is an annual event on the Goodwood estate owned by the Duke of Richmond, in West Sussex (England). With the book Goodwood Revival, [10] published by Skira in 2014, Uli Weber delved head-first into the sophisticated and exclusive elegance of motor racing, covering over more than twenty extremely competitive races in which vintage racing cars and motorcycles compete. Through his images, Weber revived the racing atmosphere.
From the elaborately posed shot to the poignant unguarded moment, Weber’s eye for reportage photography captures a treasury of magic moments, created here by a master of his craft. It is almost as if you can hear the roar of the engines and the smell of Castrol oil. The photographic quality of Uli Weber’s work attracted wonderful testimonials from the legendary racing driver, Sir Jackie Stewart (three times world champion) who commented, “Well done on the lovely book. I’m sure it’s going to be much loved by a great many people.” The aforementioned Sir Stirling Moss commented, “The quality of the photography and production in this book are stunning and it captures the atmosphere of this unique event”. Images from the “Goodwood Revival” book have been exhibited in London, Milan and Lecce.
Uli Weber’s third book, “The Allure of Horses”, [11] published by Assouline [12] in Autumn of 2018, is the result of a long and meticulous five-year project which leads readers through a unique exploration of the close relationship between man and horse. Highlighting the myriad roles that the horse and people play in our sporting, working, social and cultural lives. Photographs included in the book were exhibited in London, Milan and the Castle of Charles V in Lecce in 2019. In 2019, Weber was commissioned to create a series of artistic portraits of Polo riders for Hackett London which were later exhibited and included in an auction at Christie’s in London. Uli Weber’s work has been reviewed by major magazines such as The Times, Der Spiegel, La Repubblica and The Huffington Post.
In 2022 Weber had two solo exhibitions: the first one in Italy, in the splendid rooms of the most important Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Sicily, Palazzo Riso, Palermo, accompanied by the publication of his latest book 'Seductions', the title of the exhibition. His second exhibition, 'Moments', hosted in the evocative setting of Ljubljana Castle, Slovenia's main exhibition space. In 2023, Weber featured in a further two exhibitions: The first being a solo exhibition of Goodwood Revival in the Bocconi Art Gallery by MIA. The second, Uli was successfully selected as a finalist for the Terna Driving Energy Award 2023 where he exhibited his work at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Italy.

Gaetana "Gae" Aulenti was an Italian architect and designer who was active in furniture design, graphic design, stage design, lighting design, exhibition and interior design. She was known for her contributions to the design of important museums such as the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, the Contemporary Art Gallery at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the restoration of Palazzo Grassi in Venice, and the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco. Aulenti was one of only a few women architects and designers who gained notoriety in their own right during the post-war period in Italy, where Italian designers sought to make meaningful connections to production principles, and influenced culture far beyond Italy. This avant-garde design movement blossomed into an entirely new type of architecture and design, one full of imaginary utopias leaving standardization to the past.
Francesco Salviati or Francesco de' Rossi was an Italian Mannerist painter who lived and worked in Florence, with periods in Bologna and Venice, ending with a long period in Rome, where he died. He is known by various names, usually the adopted one of Francesco Salviati or Il Salviati, after an early patron, but also Francesco Rossi and Cecchino del Salviati.
Max Vadukul, is a British-Indian photographer based in Milan, Italy. Noted for his black-and-white imagery, Vadukul expressed his preference for monochrome photography as superior, stating, “Black-and-white is king. King of kings. Color is Commercial”, in an interview with J’aipur journal. He holds the distinction of being the first photographer of Indian origin to publish in the editions of Paris, Italian, British, and American Vogue, photographing celebrated figures such as Amy Winehouse, Tilda Swinton, Beyonce, Paul McCartney, Natalie Portman, Tom Hanks, Justine Timberlake, and many more. Sting has described his photography as a sort of "On the move style". The National Geographic channel produced a feature documentary on Vadukul in 2000 about the improbable arc of his life after Africa; the documentary continues to air around South Asia today.
Giovanna Garzoni (1600–1670) was an Italian painter of the Baroque period. She began her career painting religious, mythological, and allegorical subjects but gained fame for her botanical subjects painted in tempera and watercolour. Her works were praised for their precision and balance and for the exactitude of the objects depicted. More recently, her paintings have been seen to have female bodily associations and proto-feminist sentiments. She combined objects very inventively, including Asian porcelain, exotic seashells, and botanical specimens. She was often called the Chaste Giovanna due to her vow to remain a virgin. Scholars have speculated Garzoni may have been influenced by fellow botanical painter Jacopo Ligozzi although details about Garzoni's training are unknown.

Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev is an Italian-American writer, art historian and exhibition maker who served as the Director of Castello di Rivoli Museo d'Arte Contemporanea in Turin in 2009 and from 2016 to 2023. She was also the founding Director of Fondazione Francesco Federico Cerruti from 2017 to 2023. She was Edith Kreeger Wolf Distinguished Visiting Professor in Art Theory and Practice at Northwestern University (2013-2019). She is the recipient of the 2019 Audrey Irmas Award for Curatorial Excellence. She is currently Honorary Guest Professor at FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern, Switzerland. She has lectured widely at art and educational institutions and Universities for the Arts, including the Goethe University, Frankfurt; Harvard University, Cambridge; MIT, Boston; Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Dehli; Cooper Union, New York; The Courtauld Institute of Art, London; Monash University, Melbourne; Di Tella University, Buenos Aires; Northwestern University, Chicago, and UNITO, Università di Torino, Turin.
