The UniSport Division 1 Handball Nationals (before: 2018 Australian University Games) is an annual mixed gender tournament conducted by the UniSport to determine the national champion of Division 1 collegiate handball in Australia. The tournament was held since 2007 and has been held every year since, except the 2020 edition.

The UniSport Nationals is a multi-sport event held annually between the 43 Australian universities and tertiary institutions. Overseen by UniSport Australia, the peak governing body of university sport in Australia, the nationals is the flagship event on the university sporting calendar and attracts over 6,000 competitors each year. The nationals consist of Division 1, Division 2 and a smaller number of standalone sporting competitions held throughout the year.
The tennis tournaments at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London were staged at the All England Club in Wimbledon, from 28 July to 5 August. This was the first Olympic grass court tournament since tennis was reintroduced as an Olympic sport and the first to be held at a Grand Slam venue in the Open era.

Madeleine McAfee is an Australian handball player for UTS Handball Club and on both, the Australian national team and Australia women's national beach handball team, and participated at the 2016 Beach handball world Championships as well as the 2011 World Women's Handball Championship in Brazil and in the 2009 Women's World Championships in China.
The University of Queensland Handball Club is based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The club has been affiliated with the University of Queensland since 1992. The club fields both men's and women's team in the Brisbane Handball League. Many players are international University of Queensland students but the club is open to non-students also. The club mascot is the UQ Tiger.
IHF World Men's Outdoor Handball Championship was the world championship of field handball and was organized by the International Handball Federation (IHF) in the period 1948-1966. The first edition was organized by the International Amateur Handball Federation (IAHF) the predecessor of the IHF. In total, seven editions were held. West Germany and East Germany did not participate in the 1948 championship due to the end of World War II.
Thames Handball Club is an amateur handball club founded in 2005 in London, UK. It is affiliated to the England Handball Association and currently runs competitive men’s handball team in Development leagues. The women's team voluntarily withdrew from official competition in 2016/17 and plays in a newly formed Handball Union.
The Australian National Handball Championship consists of four different tournaments across various age groups, including a Junior Section, Schools Tournament, and Australian University Games. In 2016, the Championship ran from 31 August until 9 October.

The Men's Open National is a team handball tournament to determine the Open National Champion from the US. This is the second highest level of competition in the United States. Not qualified teams for the Men's Elite Division are allowed to play in this Division. Before the Men's Elite Division was established, the National Champion was crowned at the Open Division.
Iran competed in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September 2018. Iran has competed at the Asian Games since the first event in 1951 Delhi, and the best achievement was in 1974, when the country hosted the event in Tehran, by ranked second with the acquisition of 36 gold, 28 silver and 17 bronze medals. At the latest edition in Incheon, the country wrapped up its campaign with 57 medals in all - 21 gold, 18 silver and 18 bronze.
Algeria competed at the 2019 African Games held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. On 17 August, judo events began two days before the opening ceremony on the first day, Algeria achieved 9 medals, including two gold medals by Wail Ezzine in weight 66 kg and Faïza Aissahine in weight 52 kg. On the second and last day were content with only two medals silver and bronze.
Bahrain is expected to compete at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games have been postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be the nation's tenth consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics.
