Urkhao Gwra Brahma (born on 1st of July 1963) is an Indian politician,a poet and a leader of United People's Party Liberal who is serving as the Minister for Handloom,Textile &Sericulture,Soil Conservation and Welfare of Bodoland Department,Government of Assam in the Sarma ministry since 2021.He represents the Chapaguri constituency in the Assam Legislative Assembly since 2021. He was a former Member of the Parliament of India representing Assam in the Rajya Sabha from 2002 to 2008 as an Independent candidate. [1] He got Sahitya Academy Award for his poetry उदांनिफ्रायगिदिंबोफिन्नानै(Return from Freedom) in 2014. [2] In 2015,He founded the United People's Party Liberal [3] and became President.

He is also a former president of the All Assam Students Union,an organization that spearheaded the Assam Movement from 1979 to 1985.In August 2005,his membership in the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) was terminated.So,he floated a new political party,Asom Gana Parishad (Progressive) on 15 September 2005.
Boro,also called Bodo,is a Sino-Tibetan language spoken primarily by the Boro people of India,Nepal and Bangladesh. It is an official language of the Indian state of Assam,predominantly spoken in the Bodoland Territorial Region. It is also one of the twenty-two languages listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India. Since 1975 the language has been written using the Devanagari script. It was formerly written using Latin and Eastern-Nagari scripts. Some scholars have suggested that the language used to have its own now lost script known as Deodhai.
Bijoy Krishna Handique was an Indian politician who was a member of the 15th Lok Sabha of India.
