Vaayusastra Aerospace is an educational firm combining theatre and aeronautics, with the goal of taking aeronautical knowledge to every village in India. Vaayusastra Aerospace is incubated and funded under IIT Madras's Rural Technology and Business Incubator (RTBI). Vaayusastra publish a fortnightly column that combines storytelling with aeronautical science in The Hindu Young World Magazine. [1] [2] Vaayusastra creates theatre and hands-on activity based educational curriculum for school and college students in the field of Aeronautics and Aerospace. The company is headquartered in Chennai. [3] Its services help up to 100,000 customers from 2018.[ clarification needed ]

The Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council of the National Skill Development Corporation India identified Vaayusastra as the best training partner in 2022, and it was recognised as the space tutor of ISRO. [4] and Vaayusastra was featured in a Tamil hybrid web series titled Theervai Nokki for their works and featured several times in IIT Madras Incubation Cell articles related to aeronautics and education. History

Vaayusastra Aerospace was founded by Jagadeesh Kanna and Gobi Krishna in 2018 [6] [7] [8] Initially in 2018, the company started with hands-on education-based services to school children. [9] [10] [11] [12] In the 2020 pandemic period, Vaayusastra started online programs for children and reached 8 countries; [6] later, in second wave of pandemic in 2021, they started to conduct extensive programs for college students which focused on various aerospace research areas in aerostats, aerodynes, space suit, [13] cube satellites [14] [15] and rocket control systems. Then got an opportunity from the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation's (TNSDC) Naan Mudhalvan project and became a Drone training partner for Government of Tamil Nadu initiative TNSDC Naan Mudhalvan Program to train 3600 Engineering college students. [16]

Byrana Nagappa Suresh is an Indian aerospace scientist. He is presently the Chancellor, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) at Thiruvananthapuram and Honorary Distinguished Professor at ISRO HQ. He was President Indian National Academy of Engineering, INAE at Delhi, for four years during 2015 to 2018. He served as the Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram during the period 2003–2007. He is known for his contribution to the development of Indian launch vehicles, Space Capsule Recovery Experiments (SRE) and also for R& D management. Suresh also served as the founding director of Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram. He retired from IIST in November 2010. He was Vikram Sarabhai Distinguished Professor at ISRO HQ for 5 years since November 2010 and also a professor at IIT, Mumbai and MIT, Manipal for 3 years. He was a member of the board of governors (BOG) for IIT, Madras for 7 years until July 2018. He is the vice chair for the Design Division of Aeronautical Society of India. He is one of the associate editors of the book From Fishing Hamlet To Red Planet and a co-author of Ever Upwards: ISRO in Images, both tracing the history of Indian Space Research Organisation. He is the President of the reputed Jnanadeepa Senior Secondary School and Sri Aurobindo Foundation for Education

B. M. Birla Planetarium is a large planetarium in Chennai, India. The fifth B. M. Under his chairmanship, ISRO carried out the third Indian lunar exploration mission named Chandrayaan-3. The lander named Vikram and the rover named Pragyan landed near the lunar south pole region on 23 August 2023 at 18:04 IST, making India the first country to successfully land a spacecraft near the lunar south pole and the fourth country to demonstrate soft landing on the Moon.

AgniKul Cosmos Private Limited is an Indian aerospace manufacturer based in National Centre for Combustion R&D (NCCRD) of IIT Madras, Chennai. The start up aims to develop and launch its own small-lift launch vehicle such as the Agnibaan, capable of placing 100 kg (220 lb) payload into a 700 km (430 mi) orbit. The first commercial launch was expected in 2022. However, no launch happened in that year. The first suborbital mission will be conducted on 22 March 2024. This did not happen either. The company tried twice to launch its suborbital rocket in March and April but postponed due to technical issues.

Agnibaan, produced by Agnikul Cosmos in Chennai, India, is a mobile small-lift launch system currently under development. It is capable of placing a 100 kg (220 lb) satellite into a 700 km (430 mi) orbit. The rocket will be 18 meters long with a diameter of 1.3 meters and a lift-off mass of 14,000 kg (31,000 lb). The rocket is manufactured by 3D printing as a whole. The Agnibaan rocket has three stages. The first stage is powered by seven Agnilet engines. The second stage is powered by the same Agnilet engine which will have a larger nozzle than the sea level nozzle to optimize it for vacuum.
