Vanidah Imran (born 8 February 1973) [1] is a Malaysian actress, model and television host. [2] In 2007, she received the Best Female Actress award at 20th Malaysia Film Festival. She is mixed of Indian-Javanese descent.
She is formerly main host of TV3’s women magazine show Nona. The show is talking about women life, healthy lifestyles and family. She eventually became the main host of the show from 2 January 2011 took over Maya Karin.
Born in Penang to a Penangite Indian father and a Malay mother of Javanese descent who died when she was still a child, Vanidah grew up and spent her teenage years in Kuala Lumpur and completed her secondary education at Convent Bukit Nanas. [3] Vanidah was the 1st Runner-Up of Miss World Malaysia 1993 and she also won the subsidiary title Miss Photogenic.
She was married to a Malaysian actor named Rashidi Ishak on 1 October 2000, now both has divorced since 9 August 2018 after being married for 17 years with whom she had two children named Mikail Aimran (born 2002) and Maryam Rashika (born 2004). [4] She obtained her English Studies degree after four years of studies at Open University Malaysia in 2015. [5] She earned a Master's Degree in Performing Arts from University Malaya on March, 2022. [6] She was an active and performing member of Silat practitioner group named Seni Silat Cekak Pusaka Ustaz Hanafi Malaysia. She represented Malaysian team to perform the Malay traditional martial arts in Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships (WMC) 2019 in South Korea. [7]

Silat Melayu, also known as Seni Persilatan Melayu or simply Silat, is a combative art of self-defence from the Malay world, that employs langkah ('steps') and jurus ('movements') to ward off or to strike assaults, either with or without weapons. Silat traced its origin to the early days of Malay civilisation, and has since developed into a fine tradition of physical and spiritual training that embodies aspects of traditional Malay attire, performing art and adat. The philosophical foundation of modern Malay Silat is largely based on the Islamic spirituality. Its moves and shapes are rooted from the basis of Silat movements called Bunga Silat, and Silat performances are normally accompanied with Malay drum assembles.

Seni Gayung Fatani is a martial art, specifically a style of silat from Malaysia based on the art of war, the combination punch and kick striking, joint-locking and grappling techniques, and various type of melee weapon. In Malay, the word seni means art and gayung is a word for martial arts, synonymous with silat. Fatani means wise in Arabic and was chosen in 1976 by the councils of Guru Tua. The first grandmaster of the silat is Tuan Guru Hj Anuar Abd. Wahab (1976–2009). Seni Gayong is a style of silat from Malaysia. It was the first martial arts association to be registered in the country, and is now the biggest and most internationally known Malaysian silat discipline. Konsert Lentera Timur was a concert residency by Malaysian recording artist, Siti Nurhaliza. Held on four non consecutive nights in September 2013 at Istana Budaya, this was her first concert in which the songs performed were mainly driven by traditional Malay and folk music genres. Many of the songs were taken or derived from her four solo traditional albums: Cindai (1997), Sahmura (2000), Sanggar Mustika (2002) and Lentera Timur (2008). During the course of the four-night concert, she performed more than 30 songs and was backed by 40-piece traditional Malaysian orchestra, Orkestra Traditional Malaysia (OTM). The musical backing included an amalgamation of sounds from different traditional musical instruments, including strings and percussion that are synonymous with Malaysia's multiracial culture – Rebana, Er-hu, Sitar and Sapeh.
