Vatovavy-Fitovinany is a region located in southeast Madagascar. Its capital is Manakara. It is inhabited by the Antemoro people.
The region extends along the southern part of the east coast of Madagascar. It is bordered by Atsinanana (North), Amoron'i Mania and Haute Matsiatra (West) and Atsimo-Atsinanana (South).
Vatovavy-Fitovinany region is divided into six districts, which are sub-divided into 122 communes.
Fianarantsoa Province is a former province of Madagascar. It has an area of 103,272 km2 and population of 3,366,291. Its capital was Fianarantsoa. The province along with the 5 other was abolished in 2007 in favour of creation of smaller regions to facilitate administration.

It is bordered by Diana to the north, Sofia to the west, and Analanjirofo to the south. The population was 1,123,013 in 2018 and the total area is 25,518 km2 (9,853 sq mi). The region contains wild areas such as Marojejy National Park.
Atsimo-Atsinanana is a region in Madagascar. Its capital is Farafangana. The region used to be part of the Fianarantsoa Province.
Ranomafana National Park is in the southeastern part of Madagascar in Haute Matsiatra and Vatovavy-Fitovinany. With more than 41,600 hectares of tropical rainforest, it is home to several rare species of flora and fauna including the golden bamboo lemur, the greater bamboo lemur, black and white ruffed lemur and Milne-Edwards sifaka, and over 130 species of frogs. Bird species including ground rollers, blue vangas, short-legged ground rollers and brown mesites can be seen. The park was established in 1991 with the purpose of conserving the unique biodiversity of the local ecosystem and reducing the human pressures on the protected area. It is part of the World Heritage Site Rainforests of the Atsinanana. Adjacent to the park is the Centre ValBio research station, established in 2003 and managed by Stony Brook University with a focus on biodiversity research, community health and education, environmental arts and reforestation.
Analanjirofo is a region in northeastern Madagascar. Until 2009 it was a part of Toamasina Province. It borders Sava Region to the north, Sofia Region to the west, Alaotra-Mangoro Region to the southwest and Atsinanana Region to the south.
