Victoria Hudson (born 28 May 1996) is an Austrian athlete specialising in the javelin throw. [2] She represented her country at the 2019 World Championships, but did not qualify for the final. She also competed in the 2020 Olympics [3] and won in the women's javelin at the European Athletics Championship held in Rome in 2024. She landed a throw of 64.62 metres in the opening round of the final, winning Austria's first gold medal at the championship since 1971. [4]
Her personal best in the event is 64.68 metres, set in Eisenstadt on April 26, 2021.
She was born in Austria to an English father and Austrian mother. [5]

Theresa Ione Sanderson is a British former javelin thrower. She appeared in every Summer Olympics from 1976 to 1996, winning the gold medal in the javelin throw at the 1984 Olympics. She was the second track and field athlete to compete at six Olympics, and the first Black British woman to win an Olympic gold medal.
Andreas Thorkildsen is a retired Norwegian track and field athlete who competed in the javelin throw. He was the Olympic Champion in 2004 and 2008, European Champion in 2006 and 2010, and World Champion in 2009. He is the first male javelin thrower in history to simultaneously be European, World and Olympic Champion. He was also a three-time silver medalist at the World Championships, placing second in 2005, 2007 and 2011. His personal best of 91.59 m, set in 2006, is the Norwegian record.
Enezaide do Rosário da Vera Cruz Gomes is a Portuguese retired athlete who competed primarily in long jump. Born in São Tomé and Príncipe, she moved to Lisbon when she was 11 and began formally practising athletics when she was 13. She initially competed at international events as a representative of São Tomé and Príncipe before becoming a naturalised citizen of Portugal in 2001. Prior to changing her nationality, she set a São Toméan national record in every type of event she competed in at the international level, including women's 100 metres hurdles, long jump, high jump, triple jump, shot put, javelin throw, pentathlon, and heptathlon. She also holds the Portuguese national records in women's long jump, high jump, pentathlon, and heptathlon. At the club level, she represented Sporting CP and was coached by Abreu Matos.
Petra Meier is a retired German track and field athlete who competed in the javelin throw. Representing East Germany, she became the Olympic Champion in 1988 and broke the world record four times between 1985 and 1988. She is the only woman to throw a javelin 80 metres or more, with her world record of 80.00 m. This throw was the world record from 1988 until 1999, when a new javelin design was implemented. She also won the javelin title at the 1989 IAAF World Cup and silver medals at the World Championships in 1987 and 1991.
Barbora Špotáková is a former Czech track and field athlete who competed in the javelin throw. She is a two-time Olympic Champion and three-time World Champion, as well as the current world record holder with a throw of 72.28 m.
Mercedes Chilla López is a javelin thrower from Spain. She has represented Spain at two Summer Olympics and has also competed at the World Championships in Athletics. Chilla is the Spanish record holder for the event, with a best mark of 64.07 metres, and has won medals at the Mediterranean Games and the Ibero-American Championships.
Kara Estelle Winger is an American track and field athlete who competes in the javelin throw. She is the American record holder in the javelin throw with a distance of 68.11 m.
Līna Mūze is a Latvian track and field athlete who competes in the javelin throw. She is a European Games champion and won the gold medal in the javelin event at the 2023 Championships. Mūze is also a European U23 champion, and a World Junior Championships and European Junior Championships silver medallist. Johannes Vetter is a German athlete who competes in the javelin throw. He won gold at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics. Sara Kolak is a Croatian track and field athlete who competes in the javelin throw. She is an Olympic champion and won the gold medal in the javelin throw event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Kolak is also a European Championships bronze medallist and European U23 champion. She holds the Croatian record with a personal best throw of 68.43 m, set in 2017. It also ranks her tenth on the world all-time list. Kolak is a three-time Olympian and competed at the 2016, 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics.
