Linda Stahl (born 2 October 1985) is a retired German track and field athlete who competed in the javelin throw.

Career

She won gold at the 2010 European Athletics Championships in Barcelona, Spain, throwing a then personal best throw of 66.81 metres.

Stahl finished 3rd at the Europeans in 2012 with a result of 63.69 m. She also took the bronze medal at the Olympics in London with a season's best throw of 64.91 m.

In 2013, she was 4th at the World Championships in Moscow with a result of 64.78 m.

In 2014, she took the bronze at the Europeans in Zürich after leading the competition till the 5th round, and also improved her personal best to 67.32 m.

She grew up in Blomberg, and studies Medicine at the University of Cologne. She represented the sports club TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen, having changed club in 2003 from LG Lippe-Süd, and trained with Steffi Nerius under coach Helge Zöllkau.

Stevens qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and threw 58.77m in the Women's dicus throw. This was not a sufficient distance to qualify her for the final.

Stephanie Storp is a retired female shot putter from Germany. Her best performance was winning the bronze medal at the 1997 World Championships, with a throw of 19.22 metres. She also won the silver medal at the 1993 World Indoor Championships, and represented her country in the Summer Olympics of 1992 and 1996. She ended her athletics career in 1998, having taken up basketball as a new sport.

The Women's Javelin Throw at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics will be held at the Olympic Stadium on August 16 and August 18. The event featured four athletes whose ability was so much better than the opposition that Mirko Jalava of the IAAF said it would be a "major surprise" should another athlete beat them to the podium.

The 2007 European Cup Winter Throwing was held on 17 and 18 March at Avangard Stadium in Yalta, Ukraine. It was the seventh edition of the athletics competition for throwing events organised by the European Athletics Association. A total of 203 athletes from 26 countries entered the competition – a new high for the event.

The women's javelin throw competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil was held at the Olympic Stadium on 16–18 August.
