Vida is the fifth solo studio album by Latin hip hop artist Ana Tijoux. The album, released in 2024, is her first album since Vengo in 2014. [1]
The album was recorded in 2023 [2] in Barcelona. [3] It was produced by Andrés Celis, who collaborated with Tijoux on the albums La Bala and Vengo. [4]
The first single from the album, "Niñx", was released on 18 May 2023. The video for the single was directed by Camila Grandi. [5] The second single, "Tania", was released on 5 October 2023 and is an ode to Tijoux's sister who died from cancer in 2019. [6]
Vida incorporates elements of hip-hop, Latin rhythms, and jazz. [4] String arrangements for the album were done by Alberto Pérez. [6] The influence of Afrobeats and reggaeton can be heard on the tracks "Cora", "Dime qué", and "Bailando solo aquí". [7]
Vida includes collaborations with several artists, including Omar Lye-Fook, Talib Kweli and Plug. The song "Busco Mi Nombre" concerns those who were disappeared during the dictatorships in Argentina and Chile and features iLe of the Puerto Rican group Calle 13. [3] The track "Busco" samples a monologue by Estela de Carlotto of the Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo. [8]

Martha Ivelisse Pesante Rodríguez, known professionally as Ivy Queen, is a Puerto Rican singer, rapper, songwriter, and actress. She is considered one of the pioneers of the reggaeton genre, commonly referred to as the Queen of Reggaeton.

Nelson Díaz Martinez, known professionally as DJ Nelson is a Puerto Rican DJ and record producer who played a significant role in the development and popularization of reggaeton. He first made a name for himself as part of the Noise, a club-centered collective that was spawned in 1994. The Noise—composed of DJs, MCs, producers, and club coordinators—hosted a long-lasting series of club nights in San Juan that were vital to the development and popularization of reggaeton. DJ Nelson earned credit as one of the top Noise DJs, and he also served as a producer and arranger for the collective's music.
Anamaría Tijoux Merino, commonly known by her stage name Ana Tijoux or Anita Tijoux, is a French-born Chilean musician. She became famous in Latin America as the MC of hip hop band Makiza during the late 1990s. In 2006, she crossed over to the mainstream of Latin pop after her collaboration with Mexican singer Julieta Venegas in the radio hit "Eres para mí". Tijoux has often been praised for "exploring sensitive matters devoid of violence." She gained more widespread recognition following her second solo album, 1977, and later with La bala (2011) and Vengo (2014) which brought her a Best Artist of the year award in the 2015 Pulsar Awards.
Toby Love is an American singer, rapper and songwriter of Puerto Rican descent. Based on The Bronx, New York, he is best known for being a former member of Aventura before pursuing a solo career, mostly known for their 2002 album We Broke the Rules, later performing a style of bachata music that combines traditional and urban singing and production. In 2006, he embarked on a solo career, thus gaining success. His debut single, "Tengo Un Amor", helped him rise to fame in mainstream Latin music. Since then, he became one of the most successful bachata artists of the 2000s and 2010s with hits like "Llorar Lloviendo", "Te Parece Poco", "Lejos", "Vestida De Blanco", among others.
