Vietnam competed at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7 September to 18 September 2016.
In September 2015, Deputy Director of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, Pham Van Tuan attended the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games Chef de Mission seminar as part of the country's preparation efforts for the 2016 Games. [1] He talked to representatives from Japan, South Korea, Russia and the Asian Paralympic Committee about increasing cooperation with them. [1]
In February 2015, 12 athletes attended a training event at the National Sports Training Centre in Ho Chi Minh City as part of Paralympic readiness training. [1]

Athletics is one of three sports which Vietnam plans to send athletes to compete in at the Rio Games. [1] Athletes identified as potential Rio qualifiers included Cao Ngoc Hung, Nguyen Be Hau, Nguyen Ngoc Hiep and Nguyen Thi Nhan. [1] Vietnamese track and field competitors participated in the 2015 World Championships in Doha, Qatar as part of their readiness for Rio campaign. [1]

Powerlifting is one of three sports which Vietnam plans to send athletes to compete in at the Rio Games. [1] Lifters identified as potential Rio qualifiers included Le Van Cong, Nguyen Binh An, Dang Thi Linh Phuong and Chau Hoang Tuyet Loan. [1]
Le Van Cong and Nguyen Binh An are powerlifters from Vietnam. They competed at the 2015 ASEAN Para Games as part of their 2016 Paralympic Games preparation. Cong won gold in the 49kg event and An won gold in the 54kg event. [2] Tung, Cong and An hang their hopes of going to Rio on 2016 European Open Swimming Championships, where they will need to qualify. [1]
Vietnamese powerlifters participated in the 2015 Asian Championships in July. The event was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and was part of their qualifying efforts. [1]

Swimming is one of three sports which Vietnam plans to send athletes to compete in at the Rio Games. [1] Vietnamese swimmers participated in the World Championships as part of their efforts to prepare for the Games. [1] Swimmers identified as potential Rio qualifiers included Trinh Thi Bich Nhu, Vo Thanh Tung, Nguyen Thanh Trung and Do Thanh Hai. [1] The swimmers are coached by Dong Quoc Cuong. [3]
For only the second time in the country's history, they participated in the 2015 IPC Swimming World Championships. The country sent five swimmers who were trying to qualify for Rio. The team had been based at the HCM City for most of the year in preparation for qualifying. [3] Can Tho-born Tung competed in five events at the world championships. The swimmer from Can Tho Province went into the event with five gold medals that he won at the 2014 Asian Para Games and having represented Vietnam at the 2012 Summer Paralympics. [3] [4] Do Thanh Hai competed in the men's 100m backstroke and 100m breast stroke-SB4. [3] Trinh Thi Bich Nhu secured her Rio qualification at the 2015 World Championships in the SB5 100m breaststroke event with a time of 1:57.43. [1] [4] Her silver medal in the event was the first won by a para-swimmer from Vietnam, male or female, at an international swimming event. [4] She competed at the world championships in two events, women's 100m butterfly and 50m freestyle-SP5. [3]

Vietnam competed at the 2005 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines under the IOC country code VIE. By sending a delegation of 516 athletes and competing in 33 out of 40 sports and in 352 out of a total of 439 events, it aimed for a top three placing in the medals table. The final result showed that the Vietnamese team has attained its goal by ranking first in the medal tally with 18 gold, 24 silver and 11 bronze medals. The chief of mission to the games was Nguyen Hong Minh.
Vietnam competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. It is the 13th summer games in which the nation has competed since its first appearance in 1952. Although it has sent a modest delegation every year it has competed, Vietnam had only earned one Olympic medal before Beijing. The Vietnam Olympic Committee sent thirteen athletes to compete in eight of the 28 Olympic sports. It is the largest ever contingent for the nation, up from 11 in the 2004 games.
Vietnam competed at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing. The country was represented by nine athletes, competing in powerlifting, athletics, swimming and judo. Two of the athletes, powerlifters Dinh Thi Nga and Le Van Cong, qualified for the Paralympics through their showings at international competitions, while the other seven team members were given wild card invitations. The head of the delegation was Vu The Phiet. The group left for Beijing following a departure ceremony on August 22 in Hanoi.

Vietnam made its Paralympic Games debut at the 2000 Summer Paralympics in Sydney, with just two competitors: Nguyen Thi Xuan Anh in the women's 800m sprint in athletics, and Truong Cong Hung in the men's up to 52 kg category in powerlifting. The country's delegation in 2004 was slightly larger, and entirely composed of women, with a female sprinter, two female powerlifters and a female swimmer. In 2012, Vietnam fielded its largest delegation to date, with eleven athletes across three sports: track and field, powerlifting and swimming.

Paris By Night 101: Hạnh Phúc Đầu Năm is a Paris By Night program produced by Thúy Nga Productions that was filmed at Pechanga Resort and Casino, California on November 13 & 14, 2010. This is the fourth Paris by Night program celebrating Tết followed three previous editions: Paris by Night 85: Xuân Trong Kỷ Niệm (2007), Paris By Night 80: Tết Khắp Mọi Nhà (2006) and Paris by Night 76: Xuân Tha Hương (2005). The DVD was released on January 14, 2011.
Nguyễn Khoa Tóc Tiên, known simply as Tóc Tiên, is a Vietnamese singer, model and actress. Beginning her career as a child, Tiên later became a teen idol, participating in several singing competitions and releasing two studio albums: Nụ cười nắng mai (2007) and Tóc Tiên thiếu nữ (2008). Her third solo album, My Turn (2009), projects a new, sexually-charged image which she adopted while living in the United States and performing frequently on Thúy Nga Productions' variety show, Paris by Night. Tiên appeared in the first season of the television series, The Remix, in 2015. The show gave her an opportunity to perform "Ngày mai ", the song which brought her success and later became one of her signature hits. Subsequent singles, notably "Em không là duy nhất" and "#Catena ", were moderately successful.
Vietnam competed at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London. This was the third participation of Vietnam at the Paralympics after Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008. Nguyễn Thanh Tùng, known professionally as Sơn Tùng M-TP, is a Vietnamese singer-songwriter and actor. Born and raised in Thái Bình City, Thái Bình Province, his family discovered his singing ability when he was two years old. His self-written 2012 and 2013 singles, "Cơn mưa ngang qua" and "Em của ngày hôm qua" launched his career. These were followed by successful singles such as "Chắc ai đó sẽ về", "Lạc trôi" and "Nơi này có anh". In 2017, Tùng released the compilation album m-tp M-TP and published his autobiography, Chạm tới giấc mo.
Vietnam competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the nation's tenth appearance at the Olympics as a reunified republic, six of which under the banner of the State of Vietnam or South Vietnam. The delegation finished without a medal for the first time since 2004 Summer Olympics.
Nguyễn Việt Tú is a Vietnamese stage director, screenwriter, and event organizer. Việt Tú emerged from a young age as director of many major music programs, including most notably the Nhật thực (Eclipse) live show in 2002 and the popular music video series on VTV Bài hát tôi yêu. At the age of 26, he became the art director for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 22nd Southeast Asian Games in 2003 in Vietnam which was broadcast live to all countries in the region.
