Sethumadhavan's 1971 film Anubhavangal Paalichakal In which he acted in an uncredited role. In 1973 he acted in Kaalachakram in which he acted in a minor supporting role. In 1979, he acted in the unreleased film Devalokam by M. T. Vasudevan Nair. His first lead role in a released filn was Mela which was directed by noted director K. G. George. His next release in the same year was Vilkkanundu Swapnangal. It was 1981 when his first Kerala State Film Award won for Ahimsa;; for second best actor. In 1982, he acted as the Antagonist in Padayottam which was the first 70 mm film in Malayalam. In 1983, he stard in the I. V. Sasi directorial Iniyenkilum. In 1984, he acted in Kanamarayathu, Adiyozhukkukal, Karimpin Poovinakkare and Athirathram. These all are directed by I. V. Sasi. In 1986, he acted in 2 superhit films. They are Avanazhi and Vartha. Avanazhi was followed by Inspector Balram and Balram Vs Tharadas.
Parvathy Thiruvothu is an Indian film actress who appears in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada films and a Hindi film. Hailing from Kozhikode, Kerala, she made her debut in the 2006 Malayalam film Out of Syllabus. Anjali is an Indian film actress and model, who predominantly appears in Kolywood and Tollywood films. Following a stint in modelling, she was cast in starring roles in two Telugu productions; her début film was the Telugu film Photo, which released in 2006, before bagging a role and gaining attention in the film Kattradhu Thamizh (2007) with Jiiva. Thoonga Nagaram is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by debutant Gaurav Narayanan, starring himself along with Vimal, Bharani, Nishanth, and Anjali in the lead roles. The film, produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri's Cloud Nine Movies, was shot entirely in Madurai, the city where the story takes place and which the title refers to. It was released on 4 February 2011 to relatively positive reviews and excellent box office collection.

Bhaskar The Rascal is a 2015 Malayalam family comedy film written and directed by Siddique. It stars Mammootty and Nayantara with a supporting cast of J. D. Chakravarthy, Sanoop Santhosh, Anikha Surendran, Janardhanan, Kalabhavan Shajon, Harisree Ashokan, and Saju Navodaya. The music was composed by Deepak Dev with cinematography by Vijay Ulaganath and editing by K. R. Gowri Shanker. The movie ran more than 100 days in theatre.

Bhaskar Oru Rascal is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film written and directed by Siddique. A remake of his own Malayalam film Bhaskar the Rascal (2015), the film features Arvind Swamy, Amala Paul, Master Raghavan, and Baby Nainika in the lead roles, while Nikesha Patel, Aftab Shivdasani, and Soori play supporting roles. The team began production in February 2017. This movie marks Bollywood actor Aftab Shivdasani's Tamil debut.

The film had its theatrical release on 6 March 2020 and received mixed to negative reviews from critics.
