Vijayawada Metro is a planned rapid transit system for the city of Vijayawada, located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. The approved DPR consists of 3 lines with a total length of 74.2 kilometres. ^{[1] [2]}

History

• On 2 December 2024, the Vijayawada Metro DPR was approved in-principle. ^[3]
• On 30 January 2025, land acquisition began for the construction. ^[4]

The construction is planned to take place in 3 phases:

Phase 1A

Gannavaram to PNBS

Phase 1B

PNBS to Penamaluru

Phase 2

PNBS to Amaravathi reservoir
