Vivir (English: Live) is the second Spanish studio album recorded by Spanish singer-songwriter Enrique Iglesias. It was released by Fonovisa on 21 January 1997 (see 1997 in music). The album includes three number-one singles on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks charts in United States: "Enamorado Por Primera Vez", "Sólo En Ti" and "Miente". In the United States, it was platinum on 6 May 1997. [4] This album received a nomination for Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album at the 40th Annual Grammy Awards, on 25 February 1998, losing to Romances by Luis Miguel. [5] The album received a Premio Lo Nuestro award for "Pop Album of the Year" at the 9th Lo Nuestro Awards. To the date the record has sold a million copies in U.S and over 5 million copies worldwide. The album debuted in the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart at number 1 in the week of 15 February 1997, [8] dethroning his own father Julio Iglesias with the album Tango, and spent eight weeks at pole position, until Selena's Dreaming of You took the number-one spot for two weeks. Enrique Iglesias with his debut album replaced Selena's album at number-one the year before. In the week of 26 April 1997 Vivir returned to the top spot for another three weeks at the summit. The album spent 15 non-consecutive weeks at pole position, it also spent 36 weeks inside the Top Ten and 69 weeks in the chart, selling 5 million copies worldwide. The album's first three singles achieved 26 weeks at the top of the "Hot Latin Tracks" of Billboard in 1997, an astonishing feat that hasn't been matched yet by any other artist.

Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler is a Spanish singer and songwriter. He started his recording career in the mid-1990s on the Mexican label Fonovisa and became the bestselling Spanish-language act of the decade. By the turn of the millennium, he made a successful crossover into the mainstream English-language market. He signed a multi-album deal with Universal Music Group for US$68 million with Universal Music Latino to release his Spanish albums and Interscope Records to release English albums. Enrique is the third and youngest child of Spanish singer-songwriter Julio Iglesias.
Pies Descalzos is the third studio album by Colombian singer Shakira, released on 6 October 1995, by Sony Music Colombia. Its music incorporates Latin pop styles, additionally experimenting with pop rock elements. Looking to revive her struggling career after the commercial failures of her first two studio efforts Magia and Peligro, she assumed a prominent position in its production. As executive producer, Luis Fernando Ochoa co-wrote and co-produced each of the eleven tracks on the record with Shakira.

Nada Es Igual is the eleventh studio album by Mexican recording artist Luis Miguel. It was released by WEA Latina on 20 August 1996. The album has a musical style similar to his previous pop album Aries (1993) on which Miguel performs power ballads and R&B tunes. Recording took place at the Record Plant Studios in February 1996, with production handled by Miguel and his longtime associate Kiko Cibrian. Its songwriting was assisted by Cibrian, Rudy Pérez, and Alejandro Lerner. The album was promoted by three singles: "Dame", "Cómo Es Posible Que a Mi Lado", and "Que Tú Te Vas"; the former became the most successful single reaching number two and number one on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs and Latin Pop Songs charts, respectively.
