Vladimir Modosyan (born 16 June 1958) is a former Soviet Armenian Freestyle wrestler. [1] He is a World Champion, two-time European Championships silver medalist, and World Cup winner.
Modosyan started wrestling in 1968. In 1975, he moved to Krasnoyarsk and started training under the guidance of the honored coach of the USSR Dmitry Mindiashvili. From 1982 to 1987, Modosyan was a member of the Soviet national freestyle wrestling team. He came in first place at the 1985 Wrestling World Cup. Modosyan had his most successful year in 1986, when he won the gold medal at the 1986 World Wrestling Championships and 1986 Goodwill Games. He won his second silver medal at the 1987 European Wrestling Championships.
After completing his wrestling career, he took up coaching, becoming part of the coaching staff of the Russian national freestyle wrestling team. The most famous disciples of Vladimir Modosyan are the Russian Champion and World Championship medalist Albert Saritov [2] and the two-time World Champion Viktor Lebedev. [3]

Vladimir Valeryevich Salnikov is a Russian former freestyle swimmer who competed for the Soviet Union and set 12 world records in the 400, 800 and 1,500 meter events. Nicknamed the "Tsar of the Pool" but also the "Monster of the Waves" or simply the "Leningrad Express", he was the first person to swim under fifteen minutes in the 1500 m freestyle and also the first person to swim under eight minutes in the 800 m freestyle. He was named the Male World Swimmer of the Year in 1979 and 1982 by Swimming World.
Alexey Alexeyevich Prokurorov was a Soviet/Russian cross-country skier who competed in the late 1980s and 1990s for both the Soviet Union and Russia.

Stepan Sarkisyan is a former Soviet Armenian Freestyle wrestler. He's an Olympic silver medalist and European Champion and was awarded the Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR title in 1988.
Levon Julfalakyan is a former Soviet Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler. He is an Olympic, World, and European Champion and was merited Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR in 1988. Julfalakyan is the current head coach of the Armenian national Greco-Roman wrestling team and President of the Union of Armenian Olympians, as well as a member of the Executive Committee of the NOC.

Shamil Magomedovich Kudiyamagomedov is a retired Russian Naturalized Italian amateur wrestler of Avar heritage, who won the gold medal in men's freestyle 86 kg at the 2015 Military World Games. He is Russian national champion (2013), Italian national champion (2018), silver medalist of Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan. Junior World Championships bronze medalist 2012. He won bronze medal with an injured leg. International Master of Sports in Freestyle Wrestling. He competed in the freestyle 84 kg event at the 2013 World Wrestling Championships, after defeated Adrian Jaoude from Brazil in the Round of 64, he was eliminated by Olympic bronze medalist Ehsan Lashgari in the Round of 32. In 1/2 final European Championships U23 he lost 7-6 his teammate of Magomedgadzhi Khatiyev, but went on to wrestle back and win a bronze medal against Fatih Erdin of Turkey. At the Memorial Heydar Aliyev 2014 he beat in final Ehsan Lashgari. In 2016 he won European Championships. In 2020 Shamil announced his retirement
Gadzhimurad Gazigandovich Rashidov is a Russian freestyle wrestler who competes at 65 kilograms. He is the 2019 World Champion and the 2020 and three-time Russian National Champion. 2020 Summer Olympics bronze medalist at 65 kg.
