9.3 Classification of Teams and Teams’ Ranking System 9.3.1 In order to establish the ranking of teams after the round-robin competition, the following criteria shall be implemented for all competition: (i) By the number of victories (matches won, matches lost) among teams of the same group. Teams that won more matches will get better ranking. Technical Handbook: Volleyball V9: 17.04.2017 18 (ii) If there is an equal number of victories, then the following criteria shall be applied: ß Number of points gained: If two (2) or more teams have the same number of victories (matches won, matches lost), they shall be classified in descending order by the points gained by each team per match

It was held in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan from 25 to 31 May 2017. The 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship was the 20th staging of the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The tournament was held in Poland and Slovenia from 26 August to 11 September 2022. It was originally planned to be held in Russia. However, due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine starting on 24 February, Russia was stripped of organization rights.

The 2020 Women's European Volleyball League was originally to be held as the 12th edition of the annual Women's European Volleyball League, which features women's national volleyball teams from 18 European countries. The tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic by the CEV Board of Administration decision taken on 23 April 2020.
