WITA (1490 AM, "Inspiration 1490") is a Christian radio station located in Knoxville, Tennessee. It broadcasts a Christian format with some conservative talk shows and news from the USA Radio Network.
In the late 1960s into the mid-1970s, WITA was known as WROL, "Real Rock And Roll Radio". It was the only station in Knoxville airing an AOR format, playing album cuts from artists such as the Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin and the Grateful Dead.
The station boasted Knoxville's first female DJ to gain popularity with the University Of Tennessee student population, Leslie Shelor (Leslie Shelor Swann after marriage; also known as "Peggy Swann" to good friends). During this period it was known as "W-149" as a play on its dial position of 1490 kHz. The daytime 1-kW signal originated in Fountain City in north Knoxville, but the nighttime 250-W signal originated at a separate transmitter site which was much closer to campus.
In the mid-1970s the station switched format to top 40 as WKVQ (15Q), but found it difficult to compete with more powerful signals like WNOX-AM and WOKI-FM. By the late 1970s the religious format had begun. 2018 Gubernatorial Libertarian candidate Vinnie Vineyard, better known as Funkmaster V from Wrestling With Ghosts, hosted an hour long rock/ comedy program entitled "Cousin Vinnie's Rock N Roll Show" on the station during 1995–1996.

WLAC – branded Talkradio 98.3 & 1510 – is a commercial talk radio radio station licensed to serve Nashville, Tennessee. Owned by iHeartMedia, the station covers the Nashville metropolitan area. The WLAC studios are located in Nashville's Music Row district, while the station transmitter resides in the city's Northside neighborhood. WJOC "The TALK of Chattanooga is a radio station broadcasting a news talk format. Licensed to Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States, the station serves the Chattanooga area. The station is currently owned by Sarah Margarett Fryar. The station was WDXB from 1948–1989. In the 1960s through the early 1980s it was one of Chattanooga's most popular Top-40 stations and featured popular personalities Chickamauga Charlie or "Chicky Poo", who later went to WGOW, and Johnny Walker, who later went to WKGN in Knoxville. In the 1980s it aired multiple formats to try to stay relevant in the market which was already dominated by FM, everything from country to punk rock, even blues was heard on the station during this time. In 1989 the owners finally gave up and they sold to the station to Chattanooga Lookouts play-by-play announcer Larry Ward. Under Larry's direction the station became WJOC, Chattanooga's first all-sports station. However, the station was short-lived, and in 1993 WJOC was sold to its current owner and adopted its current talk radio/religious format. The studios are now located on Rossville Blvd, in Rossville, Georgia.

Licensed to Knoxville, Illinois, the station serves the Galesburg area including Knoxville, Monmouth, Abingdon and surrounding communities. WKAY is owned by Galesburg Broadcasting Company. The station, known on the air as "Today's Refreshing Light Rock 105.3 KFM" or "105.3 KFM" for short, signed on the air on Wednesday, December 13, 2000. Before the "official" sign on, the station played Christmas music while testing the transmitter. "Officially", the first song played was the "Heart of Rock-n-Roll" by Huey Lewis & The News. Mornings host Chris McIntyre was the first jock to be heard on 105.3 KFM. The original on-air line-up consisted of Chris McIntyre, Scott Michael (10a-3p), K.C. Fleming. As of 2021, Chris McIntyre is still Program Director and host of "Mornings with McIntyre" with Nick Ischer with the News & Sports. As of 2021 the on-air line up consists of Chris McIntyre, and Tyler Gumm. In addition to morning duties Chris McIntyre is the Program Director.
