Low-power broadcasting is broadcasting by a broadcast station at a low electric power to a smaller service area than "full power" stations within the same region. It is often distinguished from "micropower broadcasting" and broadcast translators. LPAM, LPFM and LPTV are in various levels of use across the world, varying widely based on the laws and their enforcement.
WXSU-LP is the student-run radio station at Salisbury University in Salisbury, Maryland. The station, formerly known as WSUR, was forced to change call letters when registering with the FCC because of an existing television station with those call letters in Puerto Rico. WXSU-LP first went live to the Salisbury community in 2005 with a low power, 100 watt signal. The station currently operates during the Fall and Spring semesters from Late August to Mid-May.
WACC-LP is a radio station broadcasting an Alternative rock music format. Licensed to Enfield, Connecticut, United States. WACC was one of the first LPFM stations in the state of Connecticut and operates 24 hours a day with a 100-watt ERP signal. The transmitter is located at the Enfield Fire Department. Despite its low power the signal can be heard as far north as Northampton, Massachusetts and as far south as Farmington, Connecticut. The station is currently owned by Asnuntuck Community College.

The stations may be used to create a single-frequency network. They may also be used by an AM or FM radio station to establish a presence on the other band.

WHAV-LP – branded 97.9 WHAV – is a non-commercial low-power radio station licensed to serve Haverhill, Massachusetts. Owned by Public Media of New England, Inc., WHAV-LP services the immediate Merrimack Valley and considers itself the successor station to the original WHAV, also licensed to Haverhill, and transmits from WHAV's original 1947 transmitter site; however, the original WHAV continues operations to this day as WCCM. Besides a standard analog transmission, WHAV-LP's audio is also carried, in part, by a number of public, educational, and government access (PEG) cable television stations, and is available online.
WUAC-LP was a radio station licensed to serve Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The station was owned by Crucifest Ministries. It aired a Christian rock format geared mainly toward alternative and rap. The station shared time with WTUS-LP, with WUAC broadcasting from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM daily, and WTUS broadcasting the remaining twelve hours of each day. A third Tuscaloosa LPFM licensee to this frequency, which would have had a Chinese language Christian format, returned its license to the FCC.
