Walter Wood (born March 5, 1992) is an American freestyle skier from Evergreen, Colorado. Wood became a recognizable figure in the sport of skiing at a young age. His influence in skiing alongside others helped support the development and eventual adoption of halfpipe skiing to the Olympic Games.
Born in Evergreen, Colorado Wood quickly progressed in the sport of skiing being raised by ski patrolling parents where his mother was the first female director of Berthoud Pass ski resort. In the midst of his career as a professional athlete, Wood set a record for landing the first 1620 rotation in halfpipe competition. [1] [2] Wood has been a team member of the Flying Ace Allstars [3] for over 10 years, a live entertainment ski & snowboard show located at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah. In 2014, Wood enrolled at The University of Utah and accepted into the David Eccles School of Business where he graduated with a Bachelor in Science Business degree with an emphasis in creative advertising.
In 2008 Wood signed his first professional contract with Volkl Skis, Bolle Eyewear and Helly Hansen Clothing. He competed in his first World Cup at the age of 15 [4] When he was 17 he was awarded the USSA Andy Mill award for sportsmanship and named to the Colorado All Star Team [5] competed in his first professional competition at the age of 15 and his first of 4 X Games appearances at the age of 16 years old, [6] in the discipline of Halfpipe skiing. In 2010 Wood became World Champion in 2010 winning the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival in the ski halfpipe event at Whistler, British Columbia. [7] Wood has over 40 world cup starts and competed in Dew Tour competitions from 2008 until 2015 [8] including 2 World Championship teams representing the United States. Wood placed 5th in the 2015 Krieschberg, Austria FIS World Championships. Lululemon athletic clothing brand selected Wood to endorse as one of the first male international snowsports athletes to represent the company. Wood was one of the top Olympic hopefuls for the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games until sustaining a season-ending injury 6 months prior. Wood remarkably competed in the qualification requirements narrowly missing the selected 4 person Olympic Halfpipe team.
Torah Jane Bright is an Australian professional snowboarder. She is Australia's most successful Winter Olympian, former Olympic gold and silver medalist, two time X Games gold medalist, three time US Open winner, two time Global Open Champion, three time World Superpipe Champion, former TTR World Champion and recipient of the Best Female Action Sports Athlete at the ESPY awards. In 2014 Bright became the first Olympic athlete to qualify for all three snowboarding disciplines; halfpipe, slopestyle and boarder-cross.
Kelly Clark is an American snowboarder who won halfpipe gold at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Clark was born in Newport, Rhode Island. She started snowboarding when she was 7 years old, began competing in 1999, and became a member of the US Snowboard team in 2000. On January 25, 2019, at the Winter X Games in Aspen, she announced her retirement from the sport.
Danny Davis is a professional snowboarder. He was voted 2006 Rookie of the Year in the Transworld Snowboarding Riders Poll Awards, 2006 Rookie of the Year for Snowboarder Magazine, and 2008 Snowboarder Magazine Top 10 Riders of the Year.
Andreas Håtveit, is a Norwegian freestyle skier. He won a gold medal in Ski Slopestyle at the 2008 Winter X Games XII in Aspen, Colorado.
Jamie Louise Anderson is an American professional snowboarder. She won the gold medal in the inaugural Women's Slopestyle Event at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia and repeated the feat at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, making her the first female snowboarder to win more than one Olympic gold medal. She has won gold medals in slopestyle at the Winter X Games in consecutive years in 2007/8 and 2012/3. She has 25 total medals: eighteen gold, five silver, and two bronze.
Xavier Bertoni is a French Freestyle skier. He began skiing when he was two years old, and has been with Rossignol since 2004.
Ellery Breck Hollingsworth is an American professional snowboarder from Stratton, Vermont.
Grete Eliassen is an American-Norwegian freestyle skier. She won a bronze medal in Slopestyle at the 2011 Winter X Games XV in Aspen, Colorado, behind Kaya Turski and Keri Herman. She has won 6 medals at the Winter X Games in slopestyle and halfpipe events including back to back gold medals in 2005 and 2006. Eliassen serves as the 16th president of the Women's Sports Foundation, effective January 2017.
Torin Yater-Wallace is a freestyle skier from the United States. He won a silver medal at Winter X Games XV in the superpipe, making him the youngest medalist in Winter X-Games history. Torin is one of the best up-and-coming free skiers in the world.
Bobby Brown is an American freeskier specializing in slopestyle and big air competitions.
Jonathan Cheever is an American snowboarder. He is an athlete on the U.S. Snowboarding's SBX A Team. In 2011, he was named the U.S. snowboarding champion and took two World Cup 2nd-place finishes at Stoneham Mountain Resort in Quebec and Chiesa in Valmalenco in Italy. Becoming the second American male ever in his discipline to win the world cup. In 2011, he was ranked third in the world in snowboard cross (SBX). Still no U.S. man has won a FIS World Cup title in SBX.
Arielle Townsend Gold is an American Olympic medalist snowboarder.
James Woods is a British freestyle skier. He has won six medals at FIS World Cup and two medals at FIS World Championships
Alex Beaulieu-Marchand is a Canadian freestyle skier. He represented Canada in slopestyle at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, winning the bronze medal at the latter.
Taylor Gold is an American Olympian snowboarder. He competes in the halfpipe.

Alex Ferreira is an American halfpipe skier. He competed in the 2018 Winter Olympic Games, winning the silver medal in the halfpipe event. He competed in the 2019 Winter X Games XXIII and 2020 Winter X Games XXIV, placing first in the Men's Ski Superpipe.
Cassie Sharpe is a Canadian freestyle skier. Sharpe became the Olympic champion in women's halfpipe after winning gold in Pyeongchang, South Korea at the 2018 Winter Olympics. She won a silver medal at the 2015 World Championships in halfpipe in Kreischberg and won gold and bronze in superpipe at the Winter X Games in 2016 and 2018, respectively.
The 2003/04 FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup was the twenty fifth World Cup season in freestyle skiing organised by International Ski Federation. The season started on 6 September 2003 and ended on 13 March 2004. This season included four disciplines: aerials, moguls, ski cross and halfpipe.
Patrick Burgener, better known as Pat Burgener, is a Swiss professional snowboarder, two-time Olympian and musician. Pat joined the Swiss national team at the age of 14 and landed the world’s first Switch Backside Triple Cork 1440 in April 2011. Pat competed for Switzerland in the men's halfpipe at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang where he finished 5th overall. He earned two bronze medals in the halfpipe events at the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships 2017 and again in 2019. Pat was named to his second Swiss Olympic Snowboard Freestyle Team on 18 January 2022. He represented Switzerland in the men’s halfpipe at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing where he qualified for the finals and placed 11th overall. His career results also include nine World Cup podiums, five European Cup podiums and seven Swiss Champion titles respectively in halfpipe and early on in big air.
