Water & Garri is the second EP by Nigerian singer-songwriter Tiwa Savage. It was released on August 20, 2021, through Universal Music Group, Motown Records and Capitol Records. Similar to her previous project Celia (2020), the EP features a mix of different genres such as R&B, afrobeats, soul and pop and lyrically addresses the subject of love. It features guest vocals from Amaarae, Brandy, Nas, Rich King and Tay Iwar.

Background and promotion

Tiwa Savage announced the release of an EP, called Water & Garri, in April 2021. [2] American rapper and record producer Pharrell Williams previewed and praised the project and described one of the tracks as "a classic". [2] [3] Savage held a private listening party at a plush hotel in Accra, Ghana. [4] On August 16, 2021, Savage announced the EP's release date and revealed the cover artwork and tracklist. [3] American singer Brandy (who is featured on the EP) acknowledged Savage's tracklist post and also thanked her for featuring her on the album via her Instagram story. [5]

The lead single, "Tales by Moonlight" (featuring Amaarae), was released on August 19, 2021. [6] [7] "Somebody's Son" (featuring Brandy), which was initially released as a promotional single for Water & Garri on August 19, 2021, [8] was released as the second single from the EP on October 13, 2021, along with its accompanying music video. [9] The song was serviced to urban contemporary radio and it later peaked at number 19 on the US Adult R&B Songs chart and spent over 3 months there. [10] [11] Savage performed both "Tales by Moonlight" and "Somebody's Son" at the Global Citizen Festival on September 26, 2021. [12] [13]

Once Upon a Time is the debut studio album by Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage. It was released on July 3, 2013, by Mavin Records and 323 Entertainment. The album was made available for purchase on iTunes a day before its official release. It features guest appearances from Don Jazzy, Flavour N'abania, Leo Wonder, Iceberg Slim, Sarkodie and General Pype. The album's production was handled by Don Jazzy, Warren Oak Felder, Sauce Wilson, Harmony Samuels, GospelOnDeBeatz, Del B, Raydar Ellis and Spellz. The album was supported by seven singles—"Kele Kele Love", "Love Me (3x)", "Without My Heart", "Ife Wa Gbona", "Folarin", "Olorun Mi" and "Eminado". Once Upon a Time was nominated for Best Album of the Year at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards and for Best R&B/Pop Album at The Headies 2014.

Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking, is a Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Ebute Metta community of Lagos, he grew up sharing one room with his parents and five siblings. The album features guest appearances from Don Jazzy, Olamide, Dr SID, Iceberg Slim, 2face Idibia, D'Prince, Busy Signal and Reekado Banks.
