Wen Muye (Chinese :文牧野; pinyin :Wén Mùyě; born 14 February 1985) is a Chinese film director best known for his comedy-drama film Dying to Survive (2019). [1]

Early life and education

Wen was born in Changchun, Jilin, on 14 February 1985. He attended Northeast Normal University, graduating in 2008. He went on to receive his master's degree from Beijing Film Academy in 2014 under the supervision of renowned film director Tian Zhuangzhuang.

Career

Wen rose to fame after directing Dying to Survive (2019), a comedy-drama film earned critical acclaim and received numerous awards and honors, such as Best Feature Film and Best New Director at the 55th Golden Horse Awards, Best Directorial Debut at the 32nd Golden Rooster Awards, Outstanding Film at the 35th Hundred Flowers Awards, and Best Director at the 26th Beijing College Student Film Festival.

<i>The Longest Day in Changan</i> 2019 Chinese historical series

The Longest Day in Chang'an is a 2019 Chinese historical suspense drama directed by Cao Dun and written by Paw Studio. The series stars Lei Jiayin and Jackson Yee. It is based on the novel of the same name by Ma Boyong. The Longest Day in Chang'an is produced jointly by Youku, Beijing Weying Technology Co., Ltd, Liu Bai Entertainment and Yuyue Film Co., Ltd. The series follows the characters Zhang Xiaojing and Li Bi, and their efforts to foil a terrorist attack on Chang'an, the capital of the Tang dynasty (618–907). It began airing in China on Youku from June 27, 2019.

The 36th Hundred Flowers Awards was held on 30 July, 2022 in Wuhan, Hubei, China.

The 35th Hundred Flowers Awards was held on September 26, 2020 in Zhengzhou, Henan, China. My People, My Country received the Best Picture Award, while Frant Gwo, director of the science fiction film The Wandering Earth was crowned with the Best Director title. Huang Xiaoming won Best Actor for his performance in The Bravest, and Zhou Dongyu won Best Actress for her role in Better Days.
