Park Chan-wook is a South Korean film director, screenwriter, producer, and former film critic. He is considered one of the most prominent filmmakers of South Korean cinema as well as 21st-century world cinema. His films, which often blend crime, mystery and thriller with other genres, and have gained notoriety for their cinematography, framing, black humor and often brutal subject matters.
The New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) is a film festival held in New York City dedicated to the display of Asian film and culture. The New York Asian Film Festival generally features contemporary premieres and classic titles from Eastern Asia and Southeast Asia, though South Asian cinema has also been represented via films from India and Pakistan.
The Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), formerly the Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF), held annually in Haeundae-gu, Busan, South Korea, is one of the most significant film festivals in Asia. The first festival, held from 13 to 21 September 1996, was also the first international film festival in Korea.
Song Kang-ho is a South Korean actor. Bae Doo-na, anglicized as Doona Bae, is a South Korean actress and photographer. She became known outside Korea for her roles as a political activist in Park Chan-wook's Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002), archer Park Nam-joo in Bong Joon-ho's The Host (2006), and as the doll in Hirokazu Kore-eda's Air Doll (2009). She has had English-speaking roles in the Wachowski films Cloud Atlas (2012) and Jupiter Ascending (2015), as well as their Netflix television series Sense8 (2015–2018). In Korean-speaking roles, she is well known as the leading female character in the crime thriller Stranger (2017–2020), the Netflix period zombie thriller, Kingdom (2019–2020), and the sci-fi limited series The Silent Sea (2021).
Jeon Do-yeon is a South Korean actress. She won Best Actress at the 60th Cannes Film Festival, making her the first Korean actress to win an acting award at Cannes, and Best Performance by an Actress at the 1st Asia Pacific Screen Awards for her performance in Lee Chang-dong's 2007 film Secret Sunshine. Many young actresses have cited Jeon as a role model.
The Asian Film Awards are presented annually by the Asian Film Awards Academy to recognise the excellence of the film professionals in the film industries of Asian cinema.
Jo Yeong-wook is a South Korean film score composer and music director. He is most widely known for his collaborations with director Park Chan-wook.

Kim Ye-ri, known professionally as Han Ye-ri (Korean: 한예리), is a South Korean actress.
Ryu Jun-yeol is a South Korean actor, activist, and photographer. Ryu began his acting career in independent films, he drew attention from his role in feature film Socialphobia (2015). He rose to international prominence through his breakthrough role in the critically acclaimed television series Reply 1988 (2015–2016) the highest-rated drama in Korean cable television history at the time, which also led to him winning Baeksang Arts Award for Best New Actor – Television. Since then he has starred in the box-office hit films The King (2017), A Taxi Driver (2017), Little Forest (2018), Believer (2018), Money (2019), The Battle: Roar to Victory (2019), and The Night Owl (2022). He is also known for his notable work in the two-part action blockbuster films Alienoid (2022) and Alienoid: Return to the Future (2024).
The Asian Film Award for Best Costume Design is one of the Asian Film Awards, starting in 2010 in its fourth edition. It has been awarded annually by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society, and later by the Asian Film Awards Academy, starting in 2013.
Decision to Leave is a 2022 South Korean neo-noir romantic mystery film produced and directed by Park Chan-wook, who co-wrote the film with his frequent collaborator Chung Seo-kyeong. The film follows married detective Jang Hae-jun, whose investigation of a man's death leads him to the man's widow, Chinese immigrant Song Seo-rae. Hae-jun's investigation of Seo-rae as a suspect gradually leads him to develop feelings towards her.
Hong Eui-jeong is a South Korean film director, screenwriter and producer. She has won the Blue Dragon Film Awards for Best New Director, Best New Director at the Asian Film Awards, Buil Film Awards and Korean Association of Film Critics Awards, and Best Director at the Baeksang Arts Awards for her feature directorial debut in indie crime drama film Voice of Silence (2020).
The 15th Asian Film Awards was held on October 8, 2021, in Busan at Haeundae. Like 2020 edition it was staged with the 26th Busan International Film Festival in hybrid format that combines online and face-to-face participation. The award show was hosted by actress Kim Gyu-ri and broadcaster Lee Seung-guk.
