The 1st Asian Film Awards were given on 20 March 2007 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, on the opening night of the 31st Hong Kong International Film Festival.
Given to films released in 2006 by film industries from across Asia, awards were given in 10 categories: Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenwriter, Best Cinematographer, Best Production Designer, Best Composer, Best Editor and Best Visual Effects. Up to six nominees are honored in each category.
The most awards went to The Host , directed by Bong Joon-ho. It had been nominated in five categories and won four: Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Visual Effects and Best Cinematographer. [1] [2]

Life Without Principle is a 2011 Hong Kong crime drama film produced and directed by Johnnie To and starring Lau Ching-wan, Richie Jen and Denise Ho. This film was screened in competition at the 68th Venice Film Festival on 9 September 2011. The North America distribution rights was purchased by Indomina Group shortly after the Festival. The deal was made between Indomina and the film's sales agent Media Asia Group.
The 32nd Hong Kong Film Awards presentation ceremony took place in Hong Kong Cultural Centre on 13 April 2013. The hosts for the awards ceremony were Eric Tsang, Ronald Cheng, Gordon Lam, Jerry Lamb . TVB, Now TV and RTHK Radio 2 were the live broadcasters of the ceremony, with other networks airing simultaneously around the world.
Astor Fong is a Chinese singer-songwriter, recording artist, record producer, columnist, music program presenter, music tutor, celebrity manager and entrepreneur from Hong Kong, she sings in English, Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese. Several of her solo albums have charted in Hong Kong and Asia. Astor gained widely acclaim for her similarity to Karen Carpenter's vocal style. Astor was dubbed the "Karen Carpenter of Asia". She is a lyric contralto with a wide vocal range that spanned about three octaves. Astor sang all of the Carpenters' songs during her concert in 2013 using the same key as Karen Carpenter which are rare in female artists in Asia. Among all other record singers in Hong Kong, Astor has recorded a lot of Broadway musical songs that has highly acclaimed in 2011. As Astor has a good track record in both English and Chinese albums, she was dubbed "Audiophile Diva" by leading audiophile magazine in 2015. Astor is also the first female celebrity columnist of "Audiophile", one of the famous audiophile magazine in Hong Kong.
The 19th Busan International Film Festival was held in South Korea from October 2 to October 11, 2014, and was hosted by Ken Watanabe and Moon So-ri. A total of 312 films from 79 countries were screened with total attendance of 226,473. Hong Kong director Ann Hui receives the Asian Filmmaker of the Year award. The closing film was Gangster Payday.
The 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) was held on December 3, 2014, at the AsiaWorld–Arena, Hong Kong. It marked its sixteenth edition acknowledging the past year's K-pop releases.

The 21st Busan International Film Festival was held from October 6 to October 15, 2016 at the Busan Cinema Center and was hosted by Sol Kyung-gu and Han Hyo-joo. A total of 301 films from 69 countries were screened at the festival, including 96 world premieres and 27 international premieres.

The Osaka Asian Film Festival is an annual film festival held in Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan in March. The festival began in 2005 and currently introduces Asian films.
Hong Kong competed at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, from 18 August to 2 September 2018. Hong Kong made its debut at the Asian Games in 1954 Manila, and the best achievement for the territory was in 2010 Asian Games held in neighboring Guangzhou, finishing with 8 gold, 15 silver and 17 bronze medals totaling 40 medals. At the previous edition in held 4 years later in Incheon, the total number of medals increased to 42, but the number of gold medals fell to 6. In Indonesia the performance of local athletes was satisfactory, improving the results obtained in 2010 and 2014 with 46 medals achieving the best results at the games.
