The film is set in modern times, but is in the style of Hong Kong action comedy films from the 1960s and 1970s. The film premiered at the Hong Kong Film Festival on 26 March 2010. The film has received favourable reviews on its festival shows in North America.

Our Time Will Come is a 2017 war film directed by Ann Hui, starring Zhou Xun, Eddie Peng and Wallace Huo. It revolves around the resistance movement during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong. The film opened in China on July 1, 2017 to commemorate and to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the handover of Hong Kong from the United Kingdom to China. It was released in Hong Kong on July 6, and in the United States and Canada on July 7.

The 11th Asian Film Awards are the 2017 edition of the Asian Film Awards. The ceremony was held on March 21, 2017 at the Cultural Centre in Hong Kong.

Dong Chengpeng, commonly known by his stage name Da Peng, is a Chinese actor, film director, producer, and screenwriter. Do Not Split is a 2020 documentary short film directed by Anders Hammer about the 2019–2020 Hong Kong protests. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject at the 93rd Academy Awards. The film was funded and produced by Field of Vision and supported by Fritt Ord and Viken Filmsenter.

Paradise is a 2024 Sri Lankan-Indian co-produced drama film co-written and directed by Prasanna Vithanage. The film was presented by Mani Ratnam and Siva Ananth under his Madras Talkies banner and produced by Newton Cinema. It stars Roshan Mathew, Darshana Rajendran, Shyam Fernando and Mahendra Perera and tells story of a married couple whose anniversary vacation goes awry in Sri Lanka.
