Louis Koo Tin-lok is a Hong Kong actor, singer and film producer. He began his professional career as an actor in local television series, winning TVB's Best Actor award in 1999 and 2001. After 2001, he fully focused on film career and became one of the stalwarts of the Hong Kong film industry. In 2018, Koo was awarded the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Actor, Asian Film Award for Best Actor and the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild Award for Best Actor for his performance in the 2017 film Paradox.

Our Time Will Come is a 2017 war film directed by Ann Hui, starring Zhou Xun, Eddie Peng and Wallace Huo. It revolves around the resistance movement during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong. The film opened in China on July 1, 2017 to commemorate and to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the handover of Hong Kong from the United Kingdom to China. It was released in Hong Kong on July 6, and in the United States and Canada on July 7.
Paradox is a 2017 neo-noir Hong Kong action film directed by Wilson Yip, co-produced by Soi Cheang, with action direction by Sammo Hung. Written by Jill Leung and Nick Cheuk, the film stars Louis Koo as a police inspector who travels to Pattaya to search for his teenage daughter and is aided by local detectives played by Tony Jaa and Wu Yue. Along the way, he encounters the mastermind of an organ trafficking gang who colludes with a local political aide, leading to a series of hot pursuit. Paradox is the third installment of the SPL film series, following the 2005 film, SPL: Sha Po Lang and 2015's SPL II: A Time for Consequences. The film was released in China on 17 August 2017 and in Hong Kong on 25 August 2017 and has grossed US$80.84 million worldwide against a budget of US$14.5 million.

The Thousand Faces of Dunjia is a 2017 Chinese fantasy-wuxia film directed by Yuen Woo-ping; scripted and produced by Tsui Hark. It is a remake of Yuen's 1982 film The Miracle Fighters. The film stars Da Peng, Aarif Lee, Ni Ni, Wu Bai, and Zhou Dongyu. It was released in China on December 15, 2017.
Youth is a 2017 Chinese coming-of-age drama film directed by Feng Xiaogang and written by Geling Yan. It was screened in the Special Presentations section at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. It was scheduled to be released in China on October 1, 2017, but after previews in Beijing and other cities was pulled from the National Day schedule. It was released on 15 December 2017. It was the 6th highest-grossing domestic film of 2017 in China.
Bad Genius, known in Thai as Chalard Games Goeng (ฉลาดเกมส์โกง), is a 2017 Thai heist thriller film produced by Jor Kwang Films and distributed by GDH 559. It was directed by Nattawut Poonpiriya, and stars Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying in her feature film debut as Lynn, a straight-A student who devises an exams-cheating scheme which eventually rises to international levels.

Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying, nicknamed Aokbab, is a Thai model and actress, best known for her role as Lynn in the 2017 film Bad Genius. She is the first Thai actress to win the Screen International Rising Star Asia Award in New York Asian Film Festival in 2017.
Love Education is a 2017 Chinese-Taiwanese drama film directed and co-written by Sylvia Chang. It stars Chang, Tian Zhuangzhuang, Lang Yueting, Song Ningfeng, and Wu Yanshu. It focuses on three generations of women in Henan Province.

Yang Jin-mo (Korean: 양진모) is a South Korean film editor. He is best known internationally for his work on multiple Academy Award winner Parasite as editor, which earned him critical appraisal and recognition including an American Cinema Editors Award for Best Edited Feature Film – Dramatic at the American Cinema Editors Awards in 2020 and the 2019 Online Film Critics Society Award for Best Editing. This made Parasite the first non-English-language film to win the top prize at the American Cinema Editors' Eddie Awards. He was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Editing for his work on Parasite.
The 16th Asian Film Awards was held on March 12, 2023 at Hong Kong Jockey Club Auditorium in Hong Kong Palace Museum. The nominations were announced on January 6, 2023. At the 16th edition of the awards ceremony, 30 films from 22 regions and countries were shortlisted for 81 nominations. South Korean film Decision to Leave received 10 nominations most for any film whereas Drive My Car with eight nominations was second.
