Country Joe and the Fish was an American psychedelic rock band formed in Berkeley, California, in 1965. The band was among the influential groups in the San Francisco music scene during the mid- to late 1960s. Much of the band's music was written by founding members Country Joe McDonald and Barry "The Fish" Melton, with lyrics pointedly addressing issues of importance to the counterculture, such as anti-war protests, free love, and recreational drug use. Through a combination of psychedelia and electronic music, the band's sound was marked by innovative guitar melodies and distorted organ-driven instrumentals which were significant to the development of acid rock.
Hot Space is the tenth studio album by the British rock band Queen. It was released on 21 May 1982 by EMI Records in the UK and by Elektra Records in the US. Marking a notable shift in direction from their earlier work, they employed many elements of disco, funk, rhythm and blues, dance and pop music on the album. This made the album less popular with fans who preferred the traditional rock style they had come to associate with the band. Queen's decision to record a dance-oriented album germinated with the massive success of their 1980 hit "Another One Bites the Dust" in both the UK and US.

Ultimate Spinach was an American psychedelic rock band from Boston, Massachusetts which was formed in 1967. In terms of style and national recognition, the band was one of the most prominent musical acts to emerge from the "Bosstown Sound", which was a regional attempt to compete with the San Francisco Sound. During the group's existence, they released three albums, with their self-titled debut the most commercially successful.
Analogy was a German and Italian psychedelic rock, progressive rock band, active in the 1970s. The band was launched by the guitarist Martin Thurn when attending the European School, Varese. In 1968, Thurn founded a band called Sons of Glove. Other members were Wolfgang Schoene, Thomas Schmidt and Jutta Nienhaus. The band later renamed itself to Joice in 1970 with drummer Hermann-Jürgen Nienhaus and Mauro Rattaggi (bass), the only Italian member of the band. During a music festival in Arona, a spontaneous collaboration happened with keyboarder Nikola Pankoff whilst playing a free interpretation of Pink Floyd's "Atom Heart Mother". Pankoff became a band member thereafter. Finally, in 1972, after becoming a more centered progressive rock band, they decided to change their name to Analogy. Their first release was the single "Sold Out" / "God's Own Land", two songs written by Thurn. At the end of the year, Rattaggi had to join the army and left the band. Schoene changed to the bass guitar.
Kirikyogen is a 1970 album by Japanese musician Kuni Kawachi and the Flower Travellin' Band. It was originally credited to "Kuni Kawachi and his Friends" when initially released. The album showcases Kuni Kawachi's progressive rock influences, as well as the growing heavy metal sound that the Flower Travellin' Band were honing.
Pre Viam is the third studio album by the Italian progressive rock band Jacula, released in 2011 nearly four decades after previous work. In the interim, the band's leader, Antonio Bartoccetti, had formed a new band, Antonius Rex. When Bartoccetti brought Jacula back to the recording studio, the original organist, Charles Tiring, had been dead since 1979. Original keyboardist Doris Norton was replaced with Bartoccetti's son, Rexanthony.
Basic Blues Magoos is the third album by the American rock band the Blues Magoos. It was released on Mercury Records in May 1968. The album saw the group transitioning from psychedelia back to their blues rock roots. Though the album has gained more favor over the years, it was received as a disappointment upon its original distribution and failed to chart.
"Action Woman" is a song by the American garage rock band the Litter, written by their record producer Warren Kendrick, and first released as the group's debut single on Scotty Records in January 1967. The song also appeared on the band's first album Distortions. Although "Action Woman" never broke out on the national charts, it is now revered as a classic piece of the musical genre of garage rock. Accordingly, the composition has appeared on several compilation albums, and has been the subject of cover versions.
The Freeborne was an American psychedelic rock band formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1966. The band was one of the numerous groups associated with the "Bosstown Sound", and is noted for releasing one eclectic album, Peak Impressions, in 1967, which exemplified the young members' versatility embedded in psychedelia.

Chamaeleon Church was a short-lived American psychedelic rock band formed in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1967. Founded by singer-songwriter Ted Myers after the disbandment of the Lost, Chamaeleon Church recorded one self-titled album in 1968. Similar to other psychedelic groups native to Boston, the band is remembered for its relation to the Bosstown Sound. In addition, the band had future actor and comedian Chevy Chase as a member.

Healing is a mini-LP and the third studio album by the American psychedelic rock band Weird Owl, released on October 15, 2013. The short-length album was released by A Recordings, Ltd., unlike Weird Owl's previous studio albums, Ever the Silver Cord Be Loosed and Build Your Beast a Fire, which were released under the label of Tee Pee Records. Healing received generally mixed reviews upon its release.
Interstellar Skeletal is the fourth studio album by the American psychedelic rock band Weird Owl, released by A Recordings, Ltd. on May 25, 2015. The album was ranked as the 11th best psychedelic record of 2015 by Redefine magazine.
