Widow Clicquot is an 2023 internationally co-produced drama film, directed by Thomas Napper, from a screenplay by Erin Dignam and Christopher Monger based on the book The Widow Clicquot by Tilar Mazzeo. It stars Haley Bennett, Tom Sturridge, Sam Riley, Anson Boom, Leo Suter, Ben Miles and Natasha O'Keeffe.

Production

In October 2022, it was announced Haley Bennett, Tom Sturridge, Sam Riley, Leo Suter and Anson Boom joined the cast of the film, with Thomas Napper set to direct, from a screenplay by Erin Dignam and Christopher Monger, and Joe Wright set to produce. [2]

Principal photography took place in Chablis and Reims, France, in October 2022. [3]

Release

The film had its world premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2023. [4] In November 2023, Vertical Entertainment acquired distribution rights to the film. [5]

Reception

On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes , 100% of 11 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 7.5/10. [6] Metacritic , which uses a weighted average , assigned the film a score of 71 out of 100, based on 6 critics, indicating "generally favorable" reviews. [7]
