William Thomas Owen (born 2 September 1988) is a Welsh cricketer who plays for Cheshire. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler.
Born in St Asaph,Clwyd,Owen attended Prestatyn High School and began his cricket career playing for Prestatyn Cricket Club. He was soon spotted by the Glamorgan scouts and began playing for their second XI in 2006. In 2007,he made his debut for Wales Minor Counties and at the end of the season,he made his first-class debut for Glamorgan,playing in their final County Championship match of the season against Gloucestershire.
That year,Owen began a degree course at UWIC in Cardiff,and therefore divided his time in the 2008 season between playing for the Cardiff University Centre of Cricketing Excellence,the Glamorgan 2nd XI,Wales Minor Counties,Pentyrch and Prestatyn. The 2009 season saw him continue to turn out for Wales Minor Counties and the Glamorgan 2nd XI,but he played his club cricket for Abergavenny.
In 2010,Owen returned to the Glamorgan 1st XI,almost three years after his debut. He made his return in a Clydesdale Bank 40 match against Unicorns at Dean Park,Bournemouth,on 16 May 2010,taking five wickets for 39 runs,and then scoring 12 runs off 12 balls;however,Glamorgan lost by 58 runs. The following week,he returned to first-class cricket with a County Championship match away to Leicestershire,and although he took no wickets and made no runs,Glamorgan won by 10 wickets. His Twenty20 debut came on 11 June,in Glamorgan's third match of the 2010 Friends Provident t20 away to the Essex Eagles;his bowling conceded 36 runs in two overs,but he did not bat as Glamorgan won by 7 wickets.
He was forced to retire from professional cricket in August 2015 as a result of long-term back and hip injuries. [1] However,he made a comeback in the 2016 season,signing for Cheshire and Chester Boughton Hall. [2]

The National Counties,known as the Minor Counties before 2020,are the cricketing counties of England and Wales that do not have first-class status. The game is administered by the National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA),which comes under the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). There are currently twenty teams in National Counties cricket:nineteen representing historic counties of England,plus the Wales National County Cricket Club.
James Cullum Tredwell is an English former international cricketer. A left-handed batsman and a right-arm off break bowler,he played his domestic cricket for Kent County Cricket Club and was appointed as County Captain for the 2013 season. He made his debut for Kent in the 2001 season,nine days before his first appearance for England Under-19s. He often fielded at slip. Tredwell was a member of the England team that won the 2010 ICC World Twenty20.

Michael Burns is an English first-class list cricket umpire and former first-class cricketer who played county cricket for Warwickshire and Somerset in a first-class career which spanned from 1992 until 2005. He also played Minor Counties cricket for Cumberland and Cornwall. An adaptable cricketer,he appeared for Cumberland and Warwickshire as a wicket-keeper,but when he moved to Somerset he developed into an aggressive batsman who bowled at medium-pace when needed.

Maximilian Thomas Charles Waller is a former English professional cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a leg break bowler. He played first-class,List A and Twenty20 cricket for Somerset County Cricket Club.
John Robert Tait was a Scottish cricketer who played in English and Welsh leagues. A right-hand bat and occasional right-arm off break bowler,Tait played forty four first class cricket matches for Glamorgan between 1921 and 1926,having played minor county cricket for the club since 1911. He played in Glamorgan's inaugural County Championship match in 1921 and was dismissed for 96,four runs from being the county's first centurion. In his entire career,he scored 1,477 runs at 18.23 including seven half-centuries.
Christopher Paul Ashling is an English cricketer who coaches for the Cheshire Cricket Board following his release from Glamorgan. Born in Manchester,he is a right-handed batsman and bowls right-arm medium-fast.
Ernest Francis Carless was a Welsh cricketer. Carless was a right-handed batsman who played primarily as a wicketkeeper. He also bowled right-arm off-breaks though he did not bowl in first-class cricket. Carless played football in the Football League for Cardiff City and Plymouth Argyle as an inside forward. He was born at Cadoxton,Glamorgan.
David John Halfyard was an English professional cricketer who played first-class cricket for Kent County Cricket Club and Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club between 1956 and 1970. He was primarily a bowler and took nearly 1,000 wickets during his first-class career. He also played Minor County cricket for Northumberland,Durham and Cornwall. Following a road traffic accident in 1962,Halfyard retired from cricket to become an umpire but was able to return to the game in 1968.

Cyril Cecil Smart was an English cricketer who played for Glamorgan and Warwickshire County Cricket Clubs between 1920 and 1946,featuring in 236 first-class cricket matches as a right-handed batsman and occasional leg-break spin bowler. Smart,whose brother Jack was also a first-class cricketer and a Test match umpire,was considered by Wisden to be one of the "most explosive county batsmen" during the 1930s,and is well known for his then-world record hitting of thirty-two runs from a single over against Hampshire. He ended his career with the record number of sixes for any Glamorgan player at the time.

He made his first-class cricket debut on 1 May 2016 in the 2016 County Championship and played for Kent between 2018 and 2022;he was awarded his county cap in 2019 and left the county at the end of the 2022 season,moving to Glamorgan.
Gregory Clarke Holmes is a Welsh cricketer. He is right hand batsman and right arm medium bowler. Holmes was born in Neath,Glamorgan,Wales and is son of Geoff Holmes,a former first-class cricketer and Cricket Board of Wales director. Holmes was educated at Radyr Comprehensive School and attended Cardiff Metropolitan University.
