"Wings of Love" is the debut single by Swedish supergroup Liv. It was released on 30 September 2016. The music video for "Wings of Love" was shot on 3 July 2016 and directed by Lykke Li. On 1 July, Li asked people to participate in the video by being naked. On 4 November 2016, an alternate "tantra" version of the song was released, featuring Punjabi singer Jasbir Jassi. Bloodshy & Avant notably co-wrote and produced Britney Spears' single "Toxic", which earned them a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in 2005. While continuing to work with Bloodshy and Avant, Karlsson also became a member of the indie pop band Miike Snow around 2007. Miike Snow, the group's debut album, was released in 2009, and peaked at number 11 on the Top Electronic Albums chart in the United States. Ingrid is a Swedish artist collective and record label founded in 2012. They released their first compilation on Record Store Day in 2012. The collective's musical work is notable for containing multiple side-projects by its members that do not adhere to the line-ups of their primary ventures; for example, Björn Yttling has a track entitled "Cuban Lips" under the stage name Yttling Jazz on the Ingrid Volym 1 compilation; however, he is also featured as a member of the band Smile along with Teddybears member Joakim Åhlund. All of the bands featured on the compilation are of this nature or are solo works. The record label has been managed by Niklas Hallberg since March 2013.

Eager to pursue a music career, Li began working with producer Björn Yttling of Swedish indie rock band Peter Bjorn and John when she was 19. The sessions resulted in her debut EP Little Bit, which she released on her own label LL Recordings in 2007. Liv is the Swedish word for "life". Lykke Li has described the band as "the love child of ABBA and Fleetwood Mac." Li made her acting debut in the 2014 Swedish crime film Tommy, directed by longtime collaborator Tarik Saleh. In 2017, Li starred in Terrence Malick's Song to Song where she played one of Ryan Gosling's love interests. Her song "Gunshot" was used in the television commercial for the Peugeot 108, which stars Li. She also starred in a short film for Gucci's Spring/Summer 2015 collection, which featured her song "Just Like a Dream".
