Workforce Singapore (WSG) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Manpower of the Government of Singapore.
During the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, when many Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents lost their jobs due to the closure of businesses, Workforce Singapore played a vital part in career-coaching the people of Singapore into transitioning into essential industries. For example, it helped by organising resume-crafting services both over the phone and in person with unemployed job-seekers, and it had a website that consolidated career resources, training programmes, as well as job openings. The International Baccalaureate (IB), formerly known as the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), is a nonprofit foundation headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and founded in 1968. It offers four educational programmes: the IB Diploma Programme and the IB Career-related Programme for students aged 15 to 19, the IB Middle Years Programme for students aged 11 to 16, and the IB Primary Years Programme for children aged three to 12. TAB New Zealand, formerly the New Zealand Racing Board (NZRB) and the Racing Industry Transition Agency (RITA), now the TAB again, is a statutory monopoly for New Zealand sports betting, including betting on horse racing and greyhound racing. It was established under the Racing Act 2003 to operate the TAB, promote the racing industry and maximise the profits of the industry. The Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) system is a national continuing education and training system designed for adult workers in Singapore, complementing the formal education system for students. WSQ training is accessible to all workers and does not require academic pre-requisites. The WSQ provides training for skills upgrading and also recognition and certification of workers' existing skills. There are seven qualification levels from basic Certificate to graduate Diploma and these spell out the upgrading and career advancement pathways for workers. Workers can also be certified with Statements of Attainment for individual modules to fill gaps in their skills.
