The 1904 Summer Olympics were an international multi-sport event held in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, from 1 July to 23 November 1904. Many events were conducted at what is now known as Francis Field on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis. This was the first time that the Olympic Games were held outside Europe.
Wrestling at the 1980 Summer Olympics was represented by twenty events. They were split into two disciplines : Freestyle and Greco-Roman. All events were held in the Wrestling hall of the Sports Complex of the Central Sports Club of the Army between 20 and 31 July.

He won medals at each Game; however, the gold medals he won at the 1906 Games are no longer considered to be Olympic medals. He remains Denmark's most successful wrestler at the Olympics. In addition, he was World Champion in 1905 and won multiple European championship silver medals.

Xu Chen is a badminton player from China. In 2010, he was ranked within the top 10 men's badminton doubles in the world. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed in the mixed doubles with Ma Jin, winning the silver medal. In the final they lost to Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei, also from China. He married a former Chinese national badminton team player, Pan Pan on 3 June 2014.
Ceglédi Vasutas Sportegyesület, commonly referred to as Ceglédi VSE is a Hungarian sports club based in Cegléd, Pest County. It consists of multiple departments, namely football, athletics and wrestling. The team's colours are yellow and blue.
Joung Da-woon is a South Korean judoka. At the 2012 Summer Olympics she competed in the Women's 63 kg, but was defeated in the semifinals. She beat Ramila Yusubova and Yoshie Ueno before losing to Xu Lili. Because Xu reached the final Joung was entered into the repechage, where she lost her bronze medal match to Gévrise Émane.
Yuliya Anatoliyivna Tkach, née Ostapchuk, is a Ukrainian freestyle wrestler. She is a member of Dynamo sports club. World champion in 2014, she competed for Ukraine at the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics.
Ana Maria Pavăl is a Romanian freestyle wrestler, who is playing for the women's 53 kilograms category. Since 2005, Pavăl had won a total of five bronze medals at the European Wrestling Championships. She is a member of CSA Steaua București, and is coached and trained by Simon Constantin and Vasile Vişan.
Olga Vladimirovna Smirnova is an amateur Russian-born Kazakhstani freestyle wrestler, who played for the women's lightweight category. She is a two-time Olympian, a three-time medalist at the European Senior Championships, and a gold medalist for the 50 kg class at the 1996 World Wrestling Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. Smirnova also added a silver medal from the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar, and bronze from the 2007 World Wrestling Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, representing her adopted nation Kazakhstan.
Badrakh Odonchimeg is an amateur Mongolian freestyle wrestler, who played for the women's middleweight category. Between 2007 and 2012, Odonchimeg had won a total of seven medals for the 63, 67, and 72 kg classes at the Asian Wrestling Championships. She also captured two bronze medals in the same division at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar, and at the 2009 World Wrestling Championships in Herning, Denmark.
Katarzyna Juszczak married Schillaci is a retired amateur Polish-born Italian judoka and freestyle wrestler, who competed in the women's heavyweight category. She achieved top eight finishes in the 72-kg division at the World Championships, and also participated in two editions of the Olympic Games under different banners.
Chris Xu, born Xu Guanghong, is a Chinese-born table tennis player who represented Canada at the 2000 Summer Olympics. Her doubles partner Xiao-Xiao Wang was also from her hometown Harbin in China.
Kenneth Bruce Reinsfield is a New Zealand wrestler. He competed in the men's freestyle 82 kg at the 1984 Summer Olympics.
