Yam (Persian : يام‎, also Romanized as Yām)^[1] is a village in Tarand Rural District, Jalilabad District, Pishva County, Tehran Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 346, in 92 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Tarand Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in Jalilabad District, Pishva County, Tehran Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 6,717, in 1,478 families. The rural district was created in 2010. The rural district has 8 villages.

Jalilabad District is a district (bakhsh) in Pishva County, Tehran Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 14,149, in 3,243 families. The District has no cities. The District has two rural districts (dehestan): Jalilabad Rural District and Tarand Rural District.
