The Call was an American rock band formed in Santa Cruz, California in 1980. The main lineup consisted of members Michael Been, Scott Musick, Tom Ferrier and Jim Goodwin. The band released nine studio albums over the next two decades before disbanding in 2000. Their 1986 song, "I Still Believe ", was covered by Tim Cappello and included in the 1987 film The Lost Boys. The band also achieved significant success with "Let the Day Begin" in 1989 which reached No. 1 on the Billboard U.S. Mainstream Rock chart and was later used as a campaign theme song for Al Gore's 2000 Presidential Campaign.
Yaphet Frederick Kotto was an American actor for film and television. He starred in the NBC television series Homicide: Life on the Street (1993–1999) as Lieutenant Al Giardello. His films include the science-fiction horror film Alien (1979), the science-fiction action film The Running Man (1987), the James Bond film Live and Let Die (1973), in which he portrayed the main villain Dr. Kananga, and the action comedy Midnight Run (1988) opposite Robert De Niro.

The film is set in a dystopian United States between 2017 and 2019, featuring a television show where convicted criminal "runners" must escape death at the hands of professional killers is very loosely based on the 1982 novel of the same title written by Stephen King and published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman.

JFA is an American hardcore punk band formed in 1981, with roots in Arizona and in Southern California skateboard culture. The original members include Brian Brannon (vocals), Don "Redondo" Pendleton (guitar), Michael Cornelius (bass), and Mike "Bam-Bam" Sversvold (drums). Alan Bishop of Sun City Girls also played bass for a time. The band was pivotal in the development of the skate punk and Skate Rock scenes. The Scene Between is the fourth studio album by English band The Go! Team. It was released on 24 March 2015 by Memphis Industries. The album was written and produced by leader Ian Parton after the band was officially dissolved after the promotion of their 2011 album Rolling Blackouts. Vocalists on the album include Emily Reo, Samira Winter, Casey Sowa, Atom, Doreen Kirchner, Glockabelle, The London African Gospel Choir and an Atlantan vocal trio.

Michelle Cruz Gonzales is a musician, author, and college English instructor. She is a founding member and drummer of the groundbreaking all-female hardcore punk band Spitboy. Gonzales is featured in the Green Day-produced documentary Turn It Around: The Story of East Bay Punk (2017), directed by Corbett Redford.
Vórtex Demo is the first demo tape released by Brazilian rock band Os Cascavelletes in 1987. It would attain them a massive reputation in the underground Rio Grande do Sul rock scene, and highly sexually explicit tracks such as "Estupro com Carinho", "Banana Split", "A Última Virgem" and "Morte por Tesão" became staples of their self-proclaimed style, "porno rock".
