Yariulvis Cobas (born 18 August 1990) is a Cuban female rower who has represented her country in international competitions. [1] She competed in the single sculls race at the 2012 Summer Olympics and placed 3rd in Final C and 15th overall. [2]
Sir Steven Geoffrey Redgrave is a British retired rower who won gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games from 1984 to 2000. He has also won three Commonwealth Games gold medals and nine World Rowing Championships golds. He is the most successful male rower in Olympic history, and the only man to have won gold medals at five Olympic Games in an endurance sport.
Robert Norman Waddell is a New Zealand Olympic Gold Medalist and double World Champion Single sculler rower, and America's Cup yachtsman. He is a triple New Zealand Supreme 'Halberg Awards' Sportsperson of the year winner, 1998 to 2000. He holds the third fastest 2000 metre indoor rowing machine time in the world, clocking a time of 5 mins 36.6 secs (5:36.6), which was the previous world record for 19 years before the time was improved by Joshua Dunkley-Smith. He also held the record for 5000m on the rowing machine with a time of 14min 58sec. This made him the first person to go below 15 min for this distance. He holds a black belt in judo. He played rugby union for Waikato. Waddell was Chef de Mission of the 2014 and 2018 New Zealand Commonwealth Games teams, and the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics.
Ondřej Synek is a Czech former rower. He is a five-time World Champion in Single Sculls, winning in 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017. He won Olympic silver medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and 2012 Summer Olympics in London. In Beijing he came in as the chief rival of Mahé Drysdale, but despite Drysdale coming down with a painful stomach flu and falling in the final stages of the final to bronze, he was upset for the gold by defending Olympic Champion Olaf Tufte, who Synek had regularly been beating the previous couple years. In London he was jointly favored for gold with Drysdale after trading gold and silver at the previous two World Championships, but fell short to Drysdale in the final.
Anna Rose Watkins is a British rower.
Nathan Phillip Cohen is a New Zealand rower. He is a two-time world champion, and won a gold medal in the Olympics. In 2006, rowing a single scull, he won a gold medal at the World University Games. In doing so, he became the first New Zealander to win a gold medal at the World University Games in any sport. Cohen and his rowing partner, Joseph Sullivan, won back-to-back gold medals in the men's double sculls at both the 2010 and 2011 World Rowing Championships. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he and his partner won the gold medal in the men's double sculls, after breaking the Olympic best time in the heats. In 2013, Cohen was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for his services to rowing.
The rowing competitions at the 2012 Olympic Games in London were held from 28 July to 4 August 2012, at Dorney Lake which, for the purposes of the Games venue, was officially termed Eton Dorney. Fourteen medal events were contested by 550 athletes, 353 men and 197 women.
Kathryn Ross is an Australian Paralympic rower. She is a four-time world champion who has participated at four Paralympics from 2008 to 2020, winning a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics. She set a world's best time in the PR2 1X event at the 2019 World Rowing Championships.

Melanie Wilson is a British rower who competed for the GB rowing team. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's quadruple sculls. At the 2016 Summer Olympics she won a silver medal in the women's eight.
Phuttharaksa "Pat" Neegree is a Thai rower. She competed in the single sculls race at the 2012 Summer Olympics and placed 5th in Final C and 17th overall.
Shwe Zin Latt is a Burmese rower. She competed for Myanmar in the single sculls race at the 2012 Summer Olympics and placed 4th in Final E, and therefore last in the race.
Amina Rouba is an Algerian rower. She competed in the single sculls race at the 2012 Summer Olympics and placed 2nd in Final E and 26th overall. She also competed in the Rowing at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Women's single sculls and placed 3rd in Final D and 21st overall.
Gabriela Mosqueira Benítez is a Paraguayan rower. She competed in the single sculls race at the 2012 Summer Olympics and placed 2nd in Final D and 20th overall. She competed in the same event at the 2016 Summer Olympics, finishing in 1st in the D Final, 19th overall.
Lucia Palermo is an Argentine rower. At the 2004 Olympics, she competed in the women's lightweight sculls with Milka Kraljev, finishing in 17th place. She competed in the single sculls race at the 2012 Summer Olympics and placed 3rd in Final D and 21st overall.
Lars Hartig is a German rower. A World and European medallist, he participated in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London where he competed in the Men's lightweight double sculls event together with his teammate Linus Lichtschlag. They qualified for the A finals, where they reached a sixth place.
Panagiotis Magdanis is a Greek rower. He is a two-time World Champion in the men's lightweight quadruple sculls.
The 2017 World Rowing Championships were the 47th edition of the World Rowing Championships that were held from 24 September to 1 October 2017 in Sarasota, Florida.
The 2018 World Rowing Championships were the World Rowing Championships held at the regatta course in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The event was held from 9 to 16 September. Events held were men and women's open class, lightweight class, and para-rowing.
