Yerwada metro station (not open as of 18th August 2024) is the elevated eastern terminal metro station on the East - West corridor of the Aqua Line of Pune Metro in Pune, India. It is connected to Rainbow Bus Rapid Transit System. [1] The station was opened on 6 March 2024 as an extension of Pune Metro Phase I. [2] [1] Aqua Line operates between Vanaz and Ramwadi stations. [3] [4] [5] Though this stretch was inaugurated on March 6, 2024, pending works have forced this station to be exempted for commercial operations for more than a month, unlike the other three stations opened in this stretch inaugurated along with this station. [6] [7] Though it is expected that the Yerwada metro station is going to open for commercial operations on 15th of August 2024.

Contents

The facade of the station showcases an illustration of Dandi March and a charkha, both of which are inspired by and a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. [8] It is expected to open for operations in May 2024 as the work on the revised entry-exit point is expected to complete by the end of April 2024. [9]

The section from Vanaz to Garware College was inaugurated on 6 March 2022 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The extension from Garware College to Ruby Hall Clinic was opened on 1 August 2023, and the remaining stretch to Ramwadi was completed and inaugurated on 6 March 2024.

Civil Court is the underground southern terminal metro station on the North-South corridor of the Purple Line and an elevated metro station on the East-West corridor of the Aqua Line of Pune Metro in Pune, India. Currently, the Purple Line is operational between PCMC and Civil Court, whereas, the Aqua Line operates between Vanaz and Ramwadi. This station will also serve as an future interchange for Aqua Line and Line 3 of Pune Metro. It is one of the deepest metro stations in India at the depth of 33m. The roof design of the station allows the sunlight to directly reach the underground platforms.

Change over to the Purple Line, PCMC to Swargate stations is available at Civil Court station. In June 2024, Entry / Exit Gate no. 3 was opened for the commuters so that they could climb foot over the bridge without crossing the busy road.
