Yevgeny Lipeyev (born 28 February 1958) is a former Soviet modern pentathlete and Olympic Champion. He competed at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, where he won a gold medal in the team competition (together with Anatoli Starostin and Pavel Lednyov), and placed 14th in the individual competition. Yevgeny Viktorovich Sadovyi is a retired Russian freestyle swimmer who won three gold medals at the 1992 Summer Olympics at Barcelona and was subsequently chosen by Swimming World magazine as the Male World Swimmer of the Year.
Yevgeny Nikolayevich Misyulya is a Belarusian race walker. He has won two World Championships bronze medals, and even participated in the 2004 Summer Olympics at the age of 40. He is married to racewalker Natalya Misyulya.

Yevgeny Prokopievich Belyayev was a Soviet/Russian cross-country skier who competed in the 1970s and 1980s, representing the Soviet Union at the international level. Belyayev trained at VSS Trud in Leningrad until 1981 and at Dynamo in the same city since then. He won the 15 km silver and the 4 × 10 km relay bronze at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, then followed it with a 4 × 10 km relay gold at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York.
Yevgeny Alexandrovich Lagunov is a freestyle swimmer from Russia, who won the bronze medal in the 100 m freestyle at the European Short Course Swimming Championships 2005 in Triest, Italy. He also competed in the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. At the 2008 Summer Olympics he was part of the Russian team that won silver in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay, and at the 2012 Summer Olympics he won a bronze medal in the 4 × 100 m freestyle.
Habib Galhia was a Tunisian boxer, who won the bronze medal in the men's Light Welterweight (67 kg) category at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. He was the first Tunisian to win an Olympic medal.

The 500 metres speed skating event was part of the speed skating at the 1956 Winter Olympics program. The competition was held on naturally frozen ice on the Lake Misurina. It was held on Saturday, 28 January 1956, and started at noon and ended at 1:15 PM. Forty-seven speed skaters from 17 nations competed.

Yevgeny Borisovich Grishin is a retired Russian water polo defender. He was part of the Soviet teams that won gold medals at the 1980 Olympics, 1982 World Championships and 1983 and 1985 European championships and placed third at the 1986 World Championships and 1988 Olympics. Grishin was coached by his father Boris, who is also a retired Olympic water polo defender. His mother Valentina and sister Yelena are Olympic fencers.
Yevgeny Viktorovich Korolkov was a Soviet gymnast who competed at the 1952 Summer Olympics. He won a gold medal in the team competitions and a silver in the pommel horse. Similarly, at the 1954 World Championships he won a team gold and a silver on the rings. After retiring from competitions he worked as a gymnastics coach in Moscow. His trainees included Mikhail Voronin and Sergey Diomidov.
Yevgeny Petrovich Klevtsov was a Russian cyclist. He competed in the individual and team road races at the 1952 Summer Olympics, but without much success. He was selected for the next Olympics, but reportedly refused to go because he would not stand the long trip by sea to Melbourne, Australia. At the next Olympics, he won a bronze medal in the 100 km team time trial. Both in 1952 and 1960 he was the team captain and during the races did his best to "pull" his team mates. In 1952 his efforts were discarded by a crash that involved two riders of his team.
Yevgeny Timofeyevich Artyukhin was a Soviet heavyweight Greco-Roman wrestler. He won a world title in 1983, as well as three bronze medals at the world and European championships in 1981–83. He missed the 1984 Summer Olympics due to their boycott by the Soviet Union. After retiring from senior competitions, he worked as a coach, bringing his son Sergei to an international level in Greco-Roman wrestling. He also continued competing in the masters category and won the Russian heavyweight title in 1995.
