Ysleta is a community in El Paso, Texas, United States. Ysleta was settled between October 9 and October 12, 1680, when Spanish conquistadors, Franciscan clerics and Tigua Indians took refuge along the southern bank of the Rio Grande. These people were fleeing the Pueblo Revolt in New Mexico. Ysleta is the oldest European settlement in the area that is the present-day U.S. state of Texas.

He played college football at Texas-El Paso, and was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. Demps has also been a member of the Hartford Colonials, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Giants and Chicago Bears.

DV, as it is commonly called, is part of the Ysleta Independent School District, serving 2,000 students in grades 9 to 12. At the start of the 2022 academic year, Ivan Cedillo was appointed principal of Del Valle High School. The TEA association classifies Del Valle as a "recognized school" as of 2011.
Edmund Elisala Stansbury is a former professional American football fullback in the National Football League. Considered a Blue Chip recruit at the quarterback position. He was listed as high as the #3 QB in the Nation according to the Sporting News magazine and the #1 Quarterback in the Big 12 region by PrepStar in 1997. Stansbury took official visits to UCLA, Notre Dame, University of Texas(John Mackovic), Syracuse and UTEP. (He attended UCLA, where he was a two-year starter as the team's fullback blocking for Deshaun Foster. His most notable highlight was scoring the game-winning touchdown against the University of Michigan in 2000 at the Rosebowl. Made the 53 man roster as a priority undrafted free agent Houston Texans in 2002. In 2003, he signed a free agent contract with the Seattle Seahawks. In 2004, he was allocated to NFL Europe by the Houston Texans where he was the starting fullback of the World Bowl Championship team Berlin Thunder. Ed Stansbury was inducted into the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame in the Living Athlete Category in 2015
The Ysleta Mission, located in the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo within the municipality of El Paso, Texas, is recognized as the oldest continuously operated parish in the State of Texas. La Tapatia, Inc. is a Mexican restaurant and tortilla factory located in the Ysleta neighborhood of El Paso, Texas. The restaurant has been at the same location for over 65 years and is especially known for their tamales. Over time, the restaurant has had several owners, including Alicia R. Chacón. In the 1970s, La Tapatia sponsored a softball team that was also known as "The Tamale Kings."
