Yuri Rasovsky (July 29, 1944 – January 18, 2012) was an American writer and producer working in radio drama in the United States.

He founded and operated The National Radio Theater of Chicago from 1973 to 1986 and later formed the Hollywood Theater of the Ear (since 1993). In the 1990s, he forsook radio for audiobooks. Many of his radio plays have been published as commercial recordings or as Internet downloads. His new plays are being released by Blackstone Audio. He died in 2012 of esophageal cancer. [1] [2]

2000X is a dramatic anthology series released by National Public Radio and produced by the Hollywood Theater of the Ear. There were 49 plays of various lengths in 26 one-hour programs broadcast weekly and later released on the Internet. Plays were adaptations of futuristic stories, novels and plays by noted authors. Producer/director Yuri Rasovsky and host/consultant Harlan Ellison won the 2001 Bradbury Award from the Science Fiction Writers of America for their work on this program.

Harvey Edelman and Neil Fishman are an American songwriting team, that created and produced the first two audiobook musicals. The first, titled Spin - The Rumpelstiltskin Musical, distributed by HarperAudio, and featuring Jim Dale. The music of Spin was composed by Fishman, who also did the musical arrangements for the audiobook. Edelman wrote the book and lyrics and adapted his original stage play to the audiobook with David B. Coe, a popular writer of Fantasy novels. The cast of Spin, a witty musical re-imagining of the Grimm's fairy tale, also featured a list of Broadway and audiobook performers.
