Zambia competed in the 2010 Commonwealth Games held in Delhi, India, from 3 to 14 October 2010. [1] Because of a lack of money, the team was cut from fifty seven athletes to twenty two. [2]

2010 Commonwealth Games

The 2010 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XIX Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Delhi 2010, was an international multi-sport event that was held in Delhi, India, from 3 to 14 October 2010. A total of 4352 athletes from 71 Commonwealth nations and dependencies competed in 21 sports and 272 events, making it the largest Commonwealth Games to date. It was also the largest international multi-sport event to be staged in Delhi and India, eclipsing the Asian Games in 1951 and 1982. The opening and closing ceremonies were held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the main stadium of the event.

2011 Commonwealth Youth Games

The 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games, officially known as the IV Commonwealth Youth Games is a multi-sport event which took place in the British Crown Dependency of Isle of Man from 7 to 13 September 2011. As per the original quadrennial cycle, the Games were scheduled for 2012. However, the Commonwealth Games Federation at its general assembly in 2005 decided to move the Games within one year before the Summer Olympics. The Bowl Stadium at the National Sports Centre, Douglas staged the opening ceremony on 7 September 2011. The closing ceremony was held on Douglas Promenade & the Villa Marina on 13 September.

2008 Commonwealth Youth Games

The 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games were held in Pune, India, a city in the state of Maharashtra. They were the third Commonwealth Youth Games, which are held every four years; they were the first Commonwealth Youth Games to be held in Asia.

Wizcraft was given the contract to produce the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Juma Muwowo is a Zambian male badminton player. Muwowo also play for the Central Sport Club in Zambia. In 2010, he competed at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India. In 2015, he reach the final at the Zambia International tournament in the mixed doubles event with Ogar Siamupangila after beat their compatriot Chongo Mulenga and Mary Chilambe in the straight game, but they were defeated by A. Kashkal and Hadia Hosny of Egypt in the final. In 2016, the pair also reach the final in the same tournament and finished as runner-up.
