Commonwealth Games appearances (overview)

Sri Lanka competed in the 2010 Commonwealth Games held in Delhi, India, from 3 to 14 October 2010. Sri Lanka was represented by 94 athletes (73 male, 21 female) [1] in 14 sports, with Diving, Lawn Bowls, Field Hockey, Rhythmic gymnastics and Netball not being represented. The 94 athletes represented an increase of 28 from Melbourne in 2006. Also the contingent consisted of 45 officials. [2] Chinthana Vidanage was the flag bearer. [3]

Deshabandu Kobala Vithanage Damayanthi Dharsha-Kobalavithanage is a retired Sri Lankan athlete who competed in the 200 and 400 metres race events. She is the current Asian Games record holder in women's 200m event and current Asian Athletics Championships record holder in women's 400m event as well as national record holder in women's 400m. She is regarded as one of the greatest track and field athletes to have represented Sri Lanka at international level alongside her teammate Susanthika Jayasinghe. She is also regarded as the most successful Sri Lankan athlete at the Asian Games with a medal haul of four medals including three gold medals and became the first Sri Lankan female athlete to clinch three Asian Games gold medals. Singapore competed in the 2010 Commonwealth Games held in Delhi, India, from 3 to 14 October 2010. Singapore competed in 8 out of 17 sports consisting of 68 athletes and 34 officials, making it the largest-ever contingent sent to the Commonwealth Games. Athletes are representing the country in Aquatics, Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Gymnastics, Shooting, Table tennis and Weightlifting. With 11 gold medals won, this is Singapore's best ever Commonwealth Games performance. Table tennis player Feng Tian Wei was the flag-bearer for the opening ceremony.

Reshika Amali Udugampola is a former Sri Lankan freestyle swimmer and sports administrator. She is also the current secretary of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka's Athletes' Commission and also serves in the marketing sub-committee of the International Olympic Committee.

On 3 July 2022, he became the first South Asian to break the 10-Second barrier for the men's 100 meters event at the Resisprint International competition, with a timing of 9.96 seconds, in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. He currently resides in Italy as he went on a scholarship to Italy in 2015. He is also attached to the Electronic and Mechanical Engineering Regiment of the Sri Lanka Army and represents Army Sports Club. He is currently regarded as the fastest Sri Lankan man as well as fastest South Asian man in men's 100m and 200m disciplines.

Radhika Hettiarachchi is a Sri Lankan rugby union player and coach. He captained both Sri Lanka national rugby union team and Sri Lanka national rugby sevens team. He is regarded as one of the finest rugby sevens players to have emerged from Sri Lanka and he is also nicknamed as Iron Man of Sri Lanka Rugby.

She is the current national title holder in women's long jump in Sri Lanka and is also a current national record holder in the women's long jump with a career best leap of 6.65 meters.
