Zempilas shadow ministry

The Zempilas shadow ministry is the official opposition frontbench of Western Australia in the 42nd Parliament, led jointly by the WA Liberal Party and The Nationals. Appointed on 8 April 2025, it is headed by Opposition Leader Basil Zempilas MLA (Liberal), who holds portfolios including State Development, Trade and Investment, and Citizenship and Multicultural Interests. Deputy Leader Libby Mettam MLA (Liberal) serves as Shadow Minister for Health, Mental Health, Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence, and Defence Industries and AUKUS, while Nationals leader Shane Love MLA oversees Regional Development, Mines and Petroleum, and Electoral Affairs. In total, the alliance allocates shadow portfolios across 20 members to shadow the Cook Labor government, ensuring scrutiny and policy oversight across state development, infrastructure, environment, and social services.
