The Rhodocyclales are an order of the class Betaproteobacteria in the phylum "Pseudomonadota". Following a major reclassification of the class in 2017, the previously monofamilial order was split into three families:

Acholeplasmataceae is a family of bacteria. It is the only family in the order Acholeplasmatales, placed in the class Mollicutes. The family comprises the genera Acholeplasma and Phytoplasma. Phytoplasma has the candidatus status, because members still could not be cultured.

Duganella zoogloeoides is a bacterium of the genus Duganella in the Oxalobacteraceae family. In a phylogenetic analysis of Zoogloea ramigera, it has been shown to belong to the beta subclass of the class Pseudomonadota which means Z. ramigera should be reclassified as a new taxon name, Duganella zoogloeoides.

Floc (biofilm) Type of microbial aggregate suspension

A floc is a type of microbial aggregate that may be contrasted with biofilms and granules, or else considered a specialized type of biofilm. Flocs appear as cloudy suspensions of cells floating in water, rather than attached to and growing on a surface like most biofilms. The floc typically is held together by a matrix of extracellular polymeric substance (EPS), which may contain variable amounts of polysaccharide, protein, and other biopolymers. The formation and the properties of flocs may affect the performance of industrial water treatment bioreactors such as activated sludge systems where the flocs form a sludge blanket.

NGC 973 is a giant spiral galaxy located in the constellation Triangulum. It is located at a distance of circa 200 million light-years from Earth, which, given its apparent dimensions, means that NGC 973 is about 230,000 light years across. It was discovered by Lewis Swift on October 30, 1885.

Staphylococcus borealis is a bacterial species, member of the genus Staphylococcus, closely related to Staphylococcus haemolyticus and described in 2020. Its cells are Gram positive, coccoid in shape, with a diameter of 0.65 to 1.23 µm and form clusters. Additionally, they are facultative anaerobic, coagulase negative and catalase positive. The type strain was isolated from human blood culture at the University Hospital of North Norway, in 1997. Four additional strains included in the description were isolated from skin swabs, from healthy volunteers. The genome sequence of the type strain is deposited in DNA Data Bank of Japan, European Nucleotide Archive and GenBank under the accession number JABVEJ000000000.
