Zvannoye (Russian : Званное) is a village in western Russia, in Glushkovsky District of Kursk Oblast.
It is situated mainly on the left bank of the Seym, 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) from the district centre Glushkovo.
The Ukrainian air force claimed it had attacked a second bridge in Russia's Kursk region in the middle of August 2024 as part of the August 2024 Kursk Oblast incursion of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. [4] [5] [6]

On the night of 17–18 October 2023, it was reported by Russian sources that Ukrainian forces, in a raid across the Dnipro river, had either captured or partially captured Pidstepne along with a couple other villages.

On 10 May 2024, the Russian Armed Forces began an offensive operation in Ukraine's Kharkiv Oblast, shelling and attempting to breach the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the direction of Vovchansk and Kharkiv. The Guardian reported that the offensive has led to Russia's biggest territorial gains in 18 months. By early June the Russian offensive stalled, with The Guardian reporting that the situation on the frontline had been "stabilized." Ukrainian forces then began a concerted counterattack, which liberated its first settlement on 19 June.

The battle of Toretsk is an ongoing engagement in the Russian invasion of Ukraine between the Russian Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of Ukraine for control of the city of Toretsk and the satellite settlements east of it, Pivdenne, Zalizne, Druzhba, Pivnichne, and Shumy, and the settlement south of it, Niu-York, beginning on 18 June 2024. The effort to control the city is part of a renewed effort to capture portions of Donetsk Oblast and, according to a Ukrainian military spokesman, an attempt to flank the highly contested city of Chasiv Yar from the south.

Russian sources claimed on August 16 that Ukrainian HIMARS strikes destroyed bridges in Glushkovo and Zvannoye (both southwest of Korenevo).
Ukrainian forces destroyed a bridge across the Seim River in Glushkovo (southeast of Zvannoye) and reportedly struck but did not destroy the Zvannoye bridge on August 16.
