The 2024 Wheeling, West Virginia municipal election was held on May 14, 2024, to elect members of the city council and mayor. The elections were held under the first-past-the-post system.

Mayor

Incumbent mayor Glenn Elliott was term-limited and pn January 17, 2024 announced he was running for the U.S. Senate, leaving an open seat for the office. [1] Three candidates joined in the race for mayor: 3rd Ward Wheeling Councilwoman Rosemary Ketchum, Wheeling Vice Mayor Chad Thalman, and retired longtime executive director for the Greater Wheeling Sports and Entertainment Authority, Denny Magruder. [2] Insurance agent J.T. Thomas, [3] local businesswoman Beth Hinebaugh, [4] and Carl Carpenter had declared their candidacies as well. [5]
