Khadia is an area of central Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. [1] There are pol and heritage houses in the town. [2]

Khadia was allotted a seat in Gujarat Vidhan Sabha. Ashok Bhatt won from there 8 times in a row. In 1975 as member of Jana Sangh, and 7 times from 1980 to 2007 as member of BJP. [3] From 2012, the old seats of Khadia and Jamalpur have been merged into one seat.

Sarkhej (सरखेज) Vidhan Sabha Constituency was one of the 182 assembly seats of Gujarat's Vidhan Sabha, in English the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, from 1975 until 2012. He again won 2012 and 2017 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election from the Danilimda Vidhan Sabha constituency. Both these constituencies are reserved for candidates from Scheduled Castes. A complaint was filed stating that Parmar's caste certificate declaring him to be of a scheduled caste was fake. The plea was dismissed by local court in August 2013.
