The Old Passaic County Court House and Annex are located at 71 and 63-65 Hamilton Street, respectively. [5] [6] The Passaic County Court House was constructed between 1898 and 1903. It was designed by architect Samuel Burrage Reed and is an excellent example of Classical Revival architecture. The Court House Annex was constructed in 1899 as the United States Post Office following a design of architect Fred Wesley Wentworth in the Dutch Baroque Revival style. The county acquired the building in 1936 and the building was re-dedicated as the Passaic County Administration Building and annexed to the adjacent county court house.
In October 2012, the buildings were determined to be eligible for the state and federal registers of historic places. The New Jersey State historic preservation office made a grant of $20,000 to prepare nominations for listing. [6] The main entrance of the old courthouse which had fallen into disrepair was restored, reopening in 2014. [7] They were listed in 2015. [4]

The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 9, 2003.

Ailsa Farms, also known as Haledon Hall and Hobart Manor, is a historic place located in Wayne, Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. Ailsa Farms was purchased by the state of New Jersey in 1948 from the family of Garret Hobart, 24th vice president of the United States. It is now on the campus of William Paterson University. The original manor house, built in 1877, was the weekend retreat and summer residence of the Hobart family. It was greatly expanded in 1915 following a design by Paterson architect Fred Wesley Wentworth. Today the building is known as Hobart Manor and houses the university's Office of the President and Office of Institutional Advancement. Ailsa Farms was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 30, 1976.

Fred Wesley Wentworth was an American architect known for his many buildings in Downtown Paterson, New Jersey as well as several residences and theaters in northeastern New Jersey. Wentworth had a major impact on shaping Paterson after a wind-driven fire decimated much of the central business district in 1902. His body of work consisted of institutional, commercial, residential, religious and healthcare buildings as well as some of the nation's first movie theaters designed exclusively for motion pictures. He was a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects.
