The Ras Mkumbi Lighthouse (Mnara wa Taa wa Ras Mkumbi, in Swahili) is a historic lighthouse located on the northern tip (Moresby Point) of Mafia Island on Kanga ward of Mafia District in the Pwani Region of Tanzania. [2]

Mafia Island or Chole Shamba is an island of The Mafia Archipelago located in Mafia District in the southern Pwani Region of Tanzania across the Mafia Channel. Mafia Airport is an airport on Mafia Island in the Mafia District of Pwani Region in Tanzania. The island is located in the Sea of Zanj in the Indian Ocean, 17 kilometres (11 mi) across the Mafia Channel on the Tanzanian mainland coast. In 2013 the landing strip at Mafia Airport was rehabilitated using grant funds provided by the United States government through the Millennium Challenge Corporation. The Mafia non-directional beacon is located on the field.

The Ras Kigomasha Lighthouse is located at the north western tip of Pemba, in Tanzania. It is an entirely cast iron structure and was built in 1904 by The Chance Brothers Ltd from Birmingham. The light house has a 1-storey keepers house and is still operational.

The Matumbi Lighthouse is located at the south western tip of Pemba, in Tanzania. The lighthouse is on a small island called Matumbi Makubwa. The lighthouse's construction history is unknown, however, the 31m square stone tower was renovated in 2002 by Salem Construction limited from Zanzibar.

The Ras Makunduchi Lighthouse is located at the south eastern tip of Kusini District Unguja South Region of Tanzania. The lighthouse is located near the historic town of Makunduchi. It is a 27m squared concrete tower painted red and white. The tower has 165 steps to the top and has two non resident operators. Since the lighthouse is on Zanzibar, it is managed by the Zanzibar Ports Corporation instead of the Tanzania Ports Authority.

The Kiungani Rear Range Lighthouse is located in Stone Town, Zanzibar, Tanzania. The lighthouse is located alongside Nyerere Road and provides support for ships trying to dock at the Stone Town harbor.

The lighthouse is near the Mangapwani slave caves, which were built after the slave trade was abolished in 1873. According to a July 2008 article in Lighthouse Digest, the lighthouse is area is abandoned and stripped by vandals.

The Tumbatu Lighthouse is located on Tumbatu Island in Zanzibar, Tanzania. The lighthouse is one of the oldest lighthouses in the country and is a six-stage stone tower located on the northern tip of the island.

The Makatumbe Range Rear Lighthouse is located on the island of Outer Makatumbe close to the coast of Dar es salaam, Tanzania. The lighthouse assists ships waiting in the strait that are about to enter the Kivukoni channel.

The Makatumbe Front Range Lighthouse is located on the island of Inner Makatumbe close to the coast of Dar es salaam, Tanzania and South-West of the island of Outer Makatumbe. The lighthouse works in conjunction with the Makatumbe RR and assists ships entering the Kivukoni channel.
